It took long enough lol 157 layers altogether. Made using the pen tool and gradient tool (with the exception of the text of course) XD

Nice!

I'd work back into the gradients with the dodge tool to add extra highlights, but that's just me. I'm all about the shiny shiny.

I think you're right there are parts of the camera that look pretty flat. Thanks for the tip :)

Not a camera I'd want to use (Visine might not help here...), but looks good!

I like it with the exception of the text on the screen.  It's distracting.

How does it look as an actual icon?

As an icon I can see the text being impossible to read (and frustrating to try.
The eye-piece seems out of scale to the rest of the camera and "tacked" on.  I wish it flowed more.

One of the most frustrating aspects of making icons is what looks good in design and may work well as a Dock Icon (png format) doesn't always translate to icon format.

As an aside, I used Stardock's Icon Developer to create a tone of icons in many resolutions and bit depth (not like most are used anymore).

Remember when 16x16, 8-bit was the best we had?

LOL, yeah. It was mostly for demonstrational purposes. The commission had insisted on that font and text colour. This type of video camera has quite a large front end also the perspective doesn't give the front end any justice as it is pretty big if you were to look at it like that. I appreciate all your feedback and will most certainly be taking it into account in future designs.
