Yesterday, i watched on the TV Chronicles of Riddick, movie from 2004, for the first time ever. Those, who saw it, know, there was a race called Necromongers? (not sure about their original name), who were trying to convert entire worlds to their beliefs or destroying them. There was even cool moment at the beginning, when some kind of their ships or machines were creating some kind of shockwaves along the surface of some unfortunate planet... ultimately, the movie was IMHO not so great, but it left me wondering:
- if these Necro-mongers were some kind of inspiration for the Advent? I see some parellels obviously with Ori of Stargate as well...
- why the russian-sounding names for TEC? Argonev, Ogrov, Ragnarov, Dunov.... was there ever some explanation? Its kind of unique idea. Why not redalertesque russian accent for TEC units as well?
- the Vasari, i always wondered about the "Vasari" name, I am familiar with Gorgio Vasari, some kind of gothic artist, is there any connection to him? Or just pure coincidence?
