TEC red button range buff

TEC red button range buff

Increase in range of red button now makes it far easier to fully block 1 phase lane  or 2 partially. Moreover, TEC loyalist can now fully lock 2 phase lanes. This will create many stalemate situations, making some planets completely unaccessible. As usual, TEC seems to be best equipped to counter this newly buffed ability.

I have consulted several skilled players and all agree that this buff is totally uncalled for and will have negative impact on gameplay.  Please, reconsider rolling back RB to it's previous values.

If you make it the typical red button power then it's pointless as the Vasarie jumping starbase will just eat through it....

Yeah right red button a Advent fleet and look at the titan melting anything in it's path and look at the ton of ships spawning and re spawning....

Rebellion will be about massive engagement and super fast resupplying of fleets.

The RB will be an annoyance as you loose ground to it.

I send a small force enough to be a nuisance yet have a bigger force as a back up... if he blows I send the bigger one, else just wait and defend, while the scout use their demolition charges, if he as a big fleet in there well unless he as armistice he is going for a suicide move.

How much clones can the advent send? I know advent can create clone ships. You create a little fleet of those and send them in....

Wail will attack remote well this one will clean the local one...

You say that like Sins has any chance of becoming a professional e-sport game.

And you say that like a balanced game is the responsibility of the community and all the developers need to do is plug some random numbers into a game engine.

I don't see why people are assuming this was done because of Vasari starbases. The amount of armor and defense on that thing will just mitigate all the damage. RB was buffed because phase lanes were made larger not because of anything to do with the Vasari(At least stardock has not said that).

In this case, a balanced game is the responsibility of the community since we're the only ones able to do extensive testing of just about everything in a reasonable time frame.  Stardock and Ironclad don't have the resources to devote to doing extensive balance testing on their own, so its up to us to come up solid, reasonable proposals for them to test before they can release a patch.

This may make sense for the range buff, but that should have no bearing on the damage buff...

I agree...GalCiv II TA has absolutely horrible balance (though still cool game) and Diplomacy (which was out for ages) never got balanced either...there is no reason to assume SD is willing or even capable of balancing Rebellion...

I know seleuceia, I dont agree with the BRB buffs. Im just trying to explain that it was not because of Vasari starbases for why it was buffed.

This is how I feel, but I currently do not have access to a computer right now that will run it so you guys won't be seeing me dick around with unorthodox strategies... for now;P

last I heard the Vasari Starbase jumping-thing was only to planets you own... Am I mistaken?

Look, as for the e-sport thing... you're not going to help matters. I, for one, am of the opinion that e-sports can only ruin the game. I do not wish to turn this into a rant, but needless to say, that is my opinion and I am entitled to it. You are entitled to yours.

I recommend just moving on to the topic at hand (BRB) otherwise people (not I) might just start ranting from both sides.

Oh god... Buffing the range sounds like a horrific idea

It can already reach everything but lrf's and anti-structure cruisers

Do you want to give enemy players a way to completley and unfairly halt your steamrolling fleet with minuscule losses?

One measly mistake and your fleet is gone

And what if the SB is at the phase space exit point?  Then you're screwed for sure.

No no no no no.  Not a good idea
