Minidumps, there back

Ok,

So im aware there are plenty of threads on this issue, some i have commented on but i have now narrowed the issue down as much as i can by trying many different options.

So just to clarify, i have been playing beta since 2b (joined a bit late) played for weeks fine until 2c. Was fine for some 30 hours of play until the minidumps started, first every 10 mins then every 1 min once the map was loaded. I tried everything, updated drivers, changed graphics etc etc but no change. So i deleted and reinstalled the game, wooop, it worked.

Beta 3 is released. I have played another 8 hours or so all day today a mix of multiplayer and single, played a  3 hour game with my friend this evening and it was great...... we started a new game and boooooom minidumps all over again

So my conclusion is that there seems to be some issue that develops over play time, maybe a cache or ram usage based issue? But it seems that after some serious play time the system just dumps the game every couple of mins and now im screwed, tried reinstalling but had no luck. Please investigate this starclad etc.

Oh and for the record im running a i7, 8gb ram and an ATI card all with latest drivers etc.

is it related to the actual events in the game?  My program keeps crashing EXACTLY at the same moment within ingame events.

This is like 2 hours into a my first game....  Just makes SOASE unplayable for me.

I don't get anything. I just crash to desktop. nothing in game. it just crashes and around 1 hour in to game play.

it's annoying but its a beta. most annoying is I don't know what happens so I can report nothing. just that the thing crashes nothing more. (everythings up to date)

Thanks for the information! We've seen some intermittent issues with the updates not being downloaded/installed properly.  This may be what you're seeing. Try the following in Steam.

Library > right-click on Sins:Rebellion > Properties > Local Files tab > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

If that doesn't fix the issue for you, try a full reinstall.  If it still doesn't, follow the instructions below so we can look into it more:

Try to reproduce your crash, and if you can, please zip up your minidump file and send it along with a description of the issue to [email protected].  If you have a save game that reproduces the crash, please include that with your zip file as well as a description of the steps necessary to reproduce the crash.

Save games are located at (as of Beta 2 v0.76):

C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion

Minidump files are located at (this location is hidden by default):

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\Sins Dump

might help you dev's but i now only recieve mini dumps in multiplayer games, singleplayer i can play for hours, multi about 15mins then dump every 5 and unplayable. Shame because multiplayer is the best bit of the game for me playing with RL friends and atm i cant do that at all.

I only get minidumps on ICO, otherwise it's a runtime error / CTD without any message. It's getting particularly annoying since in the past it was an occasional thing (Once or twice a week). Now I can't get passed 20-40 minutes of continuous play.

get mini dumps every load before load video. tried validation and reinstall, drivers the works. mini dump file too large to attach via gmail...

Try zipping the mini dump files. You can find programs that do this for free on the web. 7zip is a good one.

They are doing their best. Please understand that these mini-dumps seem more random then normal. Some of us (like me) have had only one or two since Beta 3 while others (like you) seems to have them constantly. Sometimes I don't even think its the game code as I have seen some reinstall STEAM and suddenly their game works perfectly.

I don't know. I just see what occurs when I help others out with this game instead of trolling.
