how to recruit gravewardens

I have researched enchantments which should enable me to recruit gravewardens. They are not showing up in my recruit unit menu. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Likely do not have one of the other underlying technologies.

hmm. It does not say anywhere that I need another technology to recruit them.  I am pretty sure I have looked through the other techs to see that.  for example spearmen are recruitable when I research training, and they show up in my unit menu.  Gravewardens should act the same when enchantment is researched unless I am mistaken. This is my first time playing and am wondering what is missing.

Have to have the materials for the magic staffs they use, do you have Crystal resources?

no, I do not have crystals.  I found crystal and will get that running.  I was wondering if that may have been the problem.  Thanks for the reply
