With the Start11 v2 2.72 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

 

Obtaining Object Desktop Insider Builds

Object Desktop Manager

Object Desktop members can get beta and Insider builds from within Object Desktop Manager with 'Enable Object Desktop Insider builds' enabled:

Obtaining Beta Releases

Stardock.com

If a beta was released, Object Desktop Members would see it in the ‘Object Desktop’ section.

Individual purchases would see it on their registration of the product under their download page.

Steam

  • Right-click the Product in Steam

  • Properties

  • Betas

  • Select the beta branch at the top right (there is no password)

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a

Changes

  • Addresses the issue with icons on secondary displays when to the left of the primary monitor and autohide is enabled (or taskbar on left/right/top is in use)

  • Fix for desktop icons appearing under the taskbar when in ‘Only hide when a window is maximized or overlapping the taskbar’ mode, and the taskbar is at the top or left of the monitor

S11 Version: 2.72 (Beta) - installed from the Web - Not steam.

I am using three displays, however taskbar only showing on the primary.

When you're in a full screen application such as a game and press the Windows key to see the Taskbar and Start Menu - the icon for Multiple App instances doesn't show, you need to minimise the application/game you have open and/or click on the desktop to return the functionality shown in the bottom half of the attached image - issue isn't exclusive to Google Chrome, but some apps randomly don't seem to have the issue. (I do have Chrome pinned to the Taskbar).

Sorry to hear you are having issues. First, please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

If the issue still appear we need more information on your system.

  1. Post a video showing your issue so we understand the issue better.
  2. Post your monitors information such as Resolution, Windows scale setting etc.
  3. Do you have any other 3rd party software which also change how your Taskbar work such as DisplayFusion, StartAllBack etc.

I fixed the button issue by toggling "Disable Taskbar Button Animations" on, restarting explorer then toggling off followed by a final explorer restart. For whatever reason the setting must have been misbehaving or displaying its state incorrectly in the UI (persisting through re-installs).

Another minor bug I've found is that sometimes when chrome (unsure if it does this with other apps, as its intermittent) is maximised the trigger zone for the Start11 auto hide doesn't work (W11 OS Auto Hide is disabled), I'm not sure if its overlapping with the reserved row at the bottom, but no matter how much I slam the mouse into the bottom the taskbar doesn't show until I shrink the chrome window.

No other explorer software like DisplayFusion or StartAllBack

I invite you to look at that or get someone else to do so. If you think it is clear, intelligible English, then I recommend you learn more about punctuation.
