Eidolon Feedback

First of all thank you for your work, dev team! I like sound and visual design of new race. I like visual effect. Grat work on that. I have some thoughts and issues still.

Issues:

- Corruption is great mechanic in terms of effecting ships, i like that but it is not clear enough how to corrupt enemy ships. Just attacking with weapns is not providing effect i would like to see.

- Eidolon titan: 2 issues here. Ultimate has nothing to imprive on level 2 of the skill. It's just stays the same but consumes skill point. And second thing skill 3 which is Physic Breach, the skill is not corrupting enemy ships and works weard.

And optional things

- Corruption resevoirs are working pretty straight forward, you need just 3 of them to cover all possible need of corruption for planet modes. It would be grat to see deeper mechanic. Maybe you should allow to activate multiple modes or something but currently it's ok.

- Lack of researches. I would ;like to see more cool tecs for Eidolon, especially civil ones

- AI is really bad with Eidolons. Spam of capitals and cloac frigates(Kaziel)

- Maybe some superweapons for Eidolon?)

- I would be happy to see command ship for Eiddolons ASAP)) pleeeeeaaaase) can't wait)

- I know that from lore perspective Eidolons always were united but still maybe it makes sense to add 1 more titan as a variant and to have 2 command ships to choose from also

I am not multiplayer player so cant tell anything about balance, eidolons are strong and i like, dont know if it is comparible to other faction(all ai clashes between eidolons and old factions ended poorly for eidolons due to smaller amount of ships, especially taking into account a lot of capitals) so i rely on you in this context. Thanks again and cant wait for command ship(maybe ships????) addition and titan even. And bug fixes for ai issues and ships corruption

Corruption is not something you apply to enemy ships by shooting them, which is why weapons fire feels like it is doing nothing. It sits on planets. Each planet has its own corruption pool with its own ceiling, it decays if you stop feeding it, and the modes you switch a planet into are spending that pool.

On a corrupted enemy planet, what you are actually doing is slowing their build times, stopping population growth and making them take more bombing damage. The ships sitting in that gravity well are not the target of it.

Phasic Breach has two target bands and they do not behave the same, which I suspect is the weirdness you are describing. Corruption only lands on the primary targets in the inner area, and there is a cap on how many of those it will take. Everything caught in the outer band takes damage and no corruption.

On the titan ultimate you are nearly right. Its second rank widens the area it covers and leaves duration, cooldown and the rest untouched, so it is one stat rather than nothing at all.

So ships, enemy ships also could be corrupted. But it is unstable. Sometimes corruption provided by weapons, sometimes it's not. Some abilities should corrupt enemy ships(Like Phasic breach) but sometimes they dont. So it's an issue, I notified dev team. Hope they will figure that out)

You are right and I had that first part wrong. Ships do carry corruption of their own, separate from the planet pool, so disregard what I said about it only sitting on planets.

What explains the inconsistency is that weapons do not corrupt on their own. There is an early military research that converts a share of the damage your weapons actually land into corruption on the target. Until you take it, your guns do damage and nothing else.

It also only covers null cannons and beam weapons. Anything else in a ship's loadout contributes no corruption at all, so a fleet with mixed armament looks like it corrupts sometimes and not others depending on which guns are doing the work.

That research has three levels and the share converted goes up at each one. At the first level it is a small enough trickle to miss entirely, which I suspect is a lot of what you are seeing.

On a corrupted enemy ship the effect is reduced weapon range, ability range and detection range, and it scales with how corrupted they are. Ships can purge it too, which clears a chunk and repairs some hull on a cooldown.

Phasic Breach still looks like its own thing to me. The corruption there lands on the primary targets in the inner band and not on anything caught in the outer one.

And that's why that looks like a bug to me. Indeed there is research to spread corruption via weapons. And that's also related to increase own corruption by fireing energy weapon, thats everything except of missiles. And the issue i see is insability of corrupting enemy ships, something defenately works wrong
