Windows becomes extremely slow after quitting

Version:

Problem:
When i exit sins, windows works very very slow.

Reproduce:
The problem seems to happen, if i start the game, when i got VLC player open (not playing). alt-tapping and click on the vlc player will also make windows work slow.

Solution:
Make sure VLC player is closed before starting the game.

I think windows XP is actually faster after I quit a game....

It's normal that a system would be a bit slower after exiting just about any game for a little while, as all the game stuff is getting unloaded from memory and what not. If you don't have much RAM, it will really be slow, since the OS will be using your hard drive a lot.

well, it it has to take about 1min to open anything and the mouse is not moveing. Well it is but, it only moves after a pause of 5-10sec.

My specs are:
Pentium 4 HT 3.57Ghz
3Gb pc 3200
geforce 7800gs+ AGP 512mb

ive never seen this happen with anyother games.
I can run Oblivion At 1680x1050 at max settings
Supreme Commander
X3 Reunion
STALKER
Without any problems.

i think it has something to do with directx, but i dont know for surten.
But after this patch i can run windows after i close down the VLC player (takes a few min since its sooo slow). Before i had to make a restart before it would go away.

Ctrl-alt-del, check for any processes consuming cpu or memory.

The problem is only when i click the VLC player. As soon as something is above the player, windows works as normal.

So i tested around abit with it, and took the task manager over the player, windows works fine, but as soon, as the task manager was away from the player, and you could see the video, windows is slow again.

So i fixed it by closing the VLC player from the task manager, and the problem did go away. But it all happens all over again if i do the same thing after quitting sins

well i seem to have found the problem.
I deleted all the files from C:\Documents and Settings\Multianna\Local Settings\Temp\
so for now it works fine even with the VLC player paused in the background.

weird though

just finished a long session with VLC in the background, with a movie loaded, but Stopped (as in, there is a file there, but not visible or playing)
And the same issue occurs. Same solution works for me though.

Might be some kind of wierd issue with using same files perhaps? (Quoth the newb)
