loading saved game crash

Hello I tried searching for this in the forms maybe im the only one with it but i keep getting this error

Failed to Read File 'C:\Documents and Settings\alex\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Save-SinglePlayer\1234.stats'. desired read bytes = 1, actual read bytes = 0. After about 4 hours of play I suspended my computer for the night in the morning I tried t again and it didn’t work this happened with another saved game i had.

i though i would wrap up two issues in one i can play for about 1-3 hours but after awhile the screen starts flickering to almost a black screen when i scroll out of the play aria into the command buttons i can keep scrolling and it flickers in and out. the only quick solution i have found is try and save the game then exit and restart the game. ill try to get a screen shot here because it is hard to explain. if anyone knows what is going on i would be grateful or if you have had similar issues.

i am running this game off a hp laptop stats zd8000 p43.4ht, 1gig, 100g 5200 drive, ati x300 Mobil 128meg.

well after playing some more i was able to get a fix to the flickering i was able to turn off all icons and effects and engine trails wich stoped all the flickering so this leads me to bleave that it is time to get a new computer becase it cant handle the grapics stress or it is the 5200rpm drive that is just to slow.

I'm going to go with graphics stress -- the video card is old, and even for its time it wasn't all that great (anything under 500 isn't really good for gaming, add in the fact that its two generations old and ouch).
