Saved games

Hi everyone,

I'm having problems getting a saved game to start. When I enter game n go to load saved games I select the game I want loaded the bar goes across the bottom of the scren n then everything locks up. The only way to get out of the game is to cut the power. Anyone else have this problem? Any advise?



P.S. this is a saved Beta 4 game.

Never heard this mentioned before. Are you trying to load one particular game, or does it happen with any save you try to load?

Hi,

I've had this, unfortunately it now means I can't play Sins at all. It now freezes after a few seconds of play. Try running your save game in window mode (graphics options), you may then see the same minidump message I do, you can send it in then.

Hi all,

Annatar11, it's with any of my saved games. I've let is set for close to 30 minutes when it finally came up, the game.

That rules out a save game getting corrupted somehow, if it's with anything you try to load. I don't really know what it could be, to my knowledge nobody mentioned this before. Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling? Maybe something got screwed up with the install.

I know Sins used to hang when you tried loading old version replays/saves, but you said it was a beta 4 save so that rules that out also.

When you say it finally came up, you mean the game loaded and you could play?

PS: Even though I'm not sure how to help you I'm asking all this in case one of the devs comes across this and catches something

hmm... do you have a really bad compy and ur loading a really big game? my comp sometimes takes a bit of time loading a game and its rather good... so it could be that...

As Rob said, try running in windowed mode so you can catch the dumpfile. Then send both the savegame and dumpfile to [email protected].

Hi everyone,

I've run the game in windowed mode to try to get a dumpfile but never got one. When I ran the game in windowed mode it took about 15 minutes for the game to load before I could play the game. I am run a large galaxy with 5 other players (all computer). I have reloaded the game and tried to play the same type of game n the load save game takes 15-30 minutes to load still.

I'm running a P4 3.0gig with 1gig of RAM, a ATI X1600 video card.

sirz: does the bar load fairly quickly, but then do nothing for a while. then you hear some sound and after a few minutes of that the game starts? I think it did happen to me and it changed after I updated some drivers. maybe that could do the job.
