When you launch a Colony Ship, simply right-click on the planet you want it to colonize (the class has to be above 0, though). For Constructors, simply send them to the square you want them to build something, then in the small menu in the ship description portion (center bottom), click 'Construct' and choose the type of Starbase you want.

Yeah, you're gonna have to play zoomed out a lot. Time to get a new machine.
Haha, that's sweet.
Having never played the first one, I don't see what the point of minor races would be if they could get large like regular races. All races start out with one colony anyway.
Speaking of loading saved games, does anyone know how to turn off the 'research tree and homeworld production sheets' at the beginning?
You could upgrade the ships... granted that you can't use a planet to do it.. but you could certain upgrade the design I know you can upgrade the designs, but can you refit the ships? I guess if you upgrade the design it automatically prompts you to spend money to refit all the ships?
Of the people I talk to, they say they won't buy it because they don't need a new addiction People aren't casually going to want this game, it's just way too deep for most gamers. You gotta know their tastes.
I would completely disagree and you are wrong - because even in MOO2 you would colonize every good planet as fast as you could build and reach them. The only limiting factor was production speed and range - there were no other priorities except maybe fending off an early rush. The dealio is - if you give EVERYONE a decent sized lump sum of starting cash then eve

There are no Drengin settlements or bases in their marked territory. Just amusing, I thought
1. Random Races - Adds more of a surprise element for each game. 2. Spies - With all the tangible starbases out there, espionage would be a hoot. Plus, with the size of the tech tree, research would be much easier for some races if they simply . . . stole it. 3. Wormholes - While they had an exaggerated presence in MOO3, the wormholes of MOO2 allowed you to expand your empire in many different directions quickly, so if you're stuck in a corner, you're not entirely doomed.<
I'm more disappointed by not having colonies auto-build their facilities based on their needs. Micromanaging buildings = ugh.
I stopped playing Civ4 after I played through a game and I bought the game as it released. Just too similar to 2 (I skipped 3)
Yeah, the expansion rush at the beginning is kinda disappointing. Master of Orion 2 alleviated this by not giving you a jackpot amount to start with, allowing you to buy out a ton of colony ships.

Awesome ad, but I'm not sure how it'd appeal to those who aren't into this style of game, especially by choosing the outcome of some of the more advanced screens. Maybe you could've done a play on the ship design by having slight variations of a base model, then a final one that looks outrageously ridiculous with a big red circle around it.
Haha, cool, I figured it out. I did have to grab Stardock Central and I forgot one of the characters in the serial number, so now it's updated. Thanks!
I went to grab the new update, having registered my serial number when I installed it. When I went to 'Update Game' on the launcher, it brought me to the site to download it. I click the link and it asks me to put in my serial number. When I put it in, it says I've already put it in. There's no in-game option to update the game, so how do you do it? I am probably completely daft.
Pretty distracting bit of flashy glitz.
I saw rectangular patches of what look like clouds, but no lights.
I looked through and saw that it wasn't addressed, but I noticed it and found it wasn't a bug. When you get a news report and the game dims for about a second, that's the autosave. You can turn it off if need be. Probably the biggest quirk I have with the interface is naming fleets. If they're stacked, you have to move each fleet out individually to rename them. Also, moving a fleet to a planet (to act as defense) disbands the fleet. All said, these are all ni
I've been a huge Master of Orion fan (except for that last one) and have put tons of time into all of them, so it was weird that when picking through to generate the galaxy, there was no option for the game to randomly choose races. You select the quantity, then you pick the major races that you're going to play with, removing the surprise of going against a race you haven't gone against yet. Seems kinda silly to me.
Do I need anything beyond the shareware version of IconPackager to assign icons in ID themes?
I just purchased IconDeveloper Pro. I now know how to import images, export them as various sizes as icons, then import them back into an icon library. Now, how do you assign a 'task' to an icon in the icon library instead of having a collection of random icons? Each icon has to have a 'task' in order for Windows to assign the proper image to the proper icon.
