I can confirm this also. It does not happen all the time. If the beast is captured in its den/nest etc the problem occurs. If the beast is captured outside a nest no problem, at least this is what is occurring on my current game.

I got the same error but instead of reading the forums for the solution bought a copy from gamersgate (not realizing it was a steam game) so now I have 2 copies. So the 1st person who pm's me and has the steam version can have the steam activation code for the dlc.
Did a forum search(beta uninstall) and found 2 things. Did you delete both folders. You need to delete the folder where the program was installed and the fallen enchantress folder(s) in my games folder. The 2nd thing I found was to delete the following key from the registry but these people had an error message during install but might help HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\F8E0573777207FE4DA0977325B0C8A8B At this point I would try to unin
We may be misunderstanding each other I'm talking about downloading the game install from the stardock website and not using stardock central. Stardock central is a program from stardock that functions like download manager for stardock software(I think since I never used). The idea is to eliminate stardock central from the equation in case it is causing the problem. Stardock central is not required to install the game. I installed my game using the method I descri
hi Try installing the game manually by downloading the file from here https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products you'll have to login and download the game approx 3.5 gig and possibly the patch and you'll need the serial number during the install and it will need to activate via the web. See if this fixes the problem. Cheers <
I have to admit that I sometimes feel the ai monsters have it in for me but I can verify the ai does get its cities and units attacked I just can't tell if there is a bias towards the player. Lord knows the way the ai unleashes monsters with poorly positioned outposts and cities they should shit all over them but if they did we would just have hit end turn and eventually win. Now I'm still in my game testing phase where I design different races and leaders and play
Thanks Parrottmath Going to give it a try. See your bridge mod and will try that too. Thanks for the excellent work!
I'd vote for #1 but wouldn't mind if all pioneers could make roads so you could add some if needed. more flexibility is always better
Sorry but it is not flawed design. This has been the nature of city design since the start of the Elemental series. The flaw is the AI not being capable of good city design or even placement after all this time. Currently, the AI is bad in both city and outpost placement as it unleashes hordes of high level monsters. Fortunately, for the AI, the monsters don't attack their cities very often or as the player you could just sit there and wait for the monsters to
I'm sorry but what is the point in this thread. The game is single player not multiplayer(thank god) so there is nobody playing against you gaining an advantage. If you don't like snaking then leave auto on or leave off and use some self-control to manually place buildings but not snake. I like snaking! There I said it I'm coming out of the closet! So quit trying to rain on my snake parade
You like that word? Screwed is a lot more colorful than 'economically disadvantaged' and a lot easier to type, though a little harsh for $2(assuming the download version is of equal value to the boxed version; another debate). I've searched the web and every site I found selling sins is selling it for $40, which would imply the true economic value is $40 and not $45 as listed at tgn. So how is paying $42 for something worth $40 is a discount? If you truly believe that I have some wond
I don't get your reasoning Yarlen; if you have significant costs in euros then there would be a problem but I'd expect most of your costs are in us$, since you're in the states and it is a digital download. It also doesn't explain why the price in both $ and tokens on Totalgaming for a download is above the retail price of $40 for the boxed version(seen it for as little as $35). Since when does a digital download costs more than a boxed version? Normally I'd expect the download to b
Hi kyro Sent in a saved game now, to gc2bugs, subject: gc2darkavatar - 0x56071c Cheers
Decided to send in a smartexception log to stardock, as there was nothing in the debug. Cheers
This happens in my current game also, which was started with 1.8, and was not occurring in the betas; completely repeatable. Only occurs if the ship class has been obsoleted, as stated by Drengin, and not if class is still active.
Just had the same problem recently and had sent the save game to support and they noted the AI had all been set to fool so they had only colonized their own system. I had also used Ctrl N a few times and was playing at painful, gigantic. Not really a big deal as just started a new game without ctrl n. Who knows maybe the ai figures that using ctrl n means you need help and lowers the ai level each time. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
The email is [email protected]. The smartexception program sortof walks you through it. Any saved games should be zipped before sending.
Hi Did you email the smartexception and zipped saved game to Stardock or just post here? You'll get a better response if you email. Things to try, that helped me, were increasing pagefile above 2gig, turn off antialiasing and use hardware cursor. Also your sound driver is fairly old and might help if updated.
Hi God King, You need to 1st post your debug.err located in the galciv2 folder as this can give some ideas(open the file in notepad then cut & paste into your post.) Posting the debug.err will show what hardware and settings you are using and can allow people to make more informed recommendations. Also is your computer completely locking up like negadeath with the monitor going black with lose of signal? If not you should start a
Further to your problem I was looking at a hardware forum on 9800's pros & xt (there is 1 thread that has been running for 4 years) and a number of people found that simply changing the agp from 8x to 4x eliminated lockups. Sometimes they also turned off fast writes and agp 3 compliance. It was also noted that this card can really draw power when being worked and for some the solution was a new high quality psu.
Have the exact same problem since upgrading the video driver, using a 9600pro. I originally installed the game using catalyst 4.12 drivers(from 2004 pre dx9c) and it worked fine though the game the 1st time said my driver wasn't 9c compatible but no problems. When I decided to try the betas I ugraded the driver(using omegas) to see what would happen. My assumption is the game when installed compensated for the fonts because of the old dri
Hi again, Just noticed on rereading your initial message that you actually lose signal to monitor which was not occuring on my lockups. Have you tried stress testing the video with say 3dmark or something similar for a few hours? I have seen such things in the past but usually due to hardware, faulty video cards and poor quality psu's.; the stress test should trigger the problem if hardware. Recently, though I had a pc that would bsod or lose
Had a similar problem with amd 2800 and 9600 pro with same omega driver but at 1600x1200 and onboard sound. What seems to be working for me now is antialiasing off, throttle frame rate on and hardware cursor on. Ran 8 hrs yesterday with no lockups using the latest beta so it is either resolved or got lucky. Originally, installed the game using catalyst 4.12 drivers 2004(best driver I found for civ4) and this ran with no problems even tho
