This is particularly amusing against AI, where a few ships can lead the AI fleet on a merry chase, largely negating them.
Oh hell yes. Just build a few colonizers and then send one in with the fleet and solo guide it all over the place. It's almost an exploit IMO.
But I simply just manually give a move order so they'll intercept, not really that hard..
I do that too, but like I said in my post... the problem I have is that the ships stop firing and instead concentrate all their effort on moving to my intended destination. If however you give the "engage target" command they'll move and fire... just in a really stupid way.

One of the most infuriating things about fleet management is the fact that the ships never actually move to intercept. What they are actually doing is moving to follow. Moving to follow consists of always flying to where a target is "right now" and adjusting that as the target moves. Flying to intercept consists of flying towards weapons range of where you expect the target "to be" based on current target direction & speed. I'm sure everyone else has noticed that ships are practically inv
I don't come to the the forums and complain because it's not that hard to handle
Instead you come to snipe and jump to conclusions. Nice work. Your entire response is based on a quick assumption which doesn't even take really do a good job of analyzing the screen shot.
You want to know what your problem is? You've played for 40 minutes and you have TWO worlds. That's your problem. Expand more quickly and fortify your border planets.
Thanks captain obvious. See how there are 2 more planets listed at the bottom of the screenshot entity inventory? There's no way those could have just been overtaken and destroyed by the 3 fleet magic AI alliance. No. Of course I must be some kind of retard. Thanks!

I'm not sure that's the case, although I can't rule anything out. I'm not exactly going out of my way to repeat it since I'm trying to actually play the game... not make it unplayable. On games that scroll I always pause by opening the menu (or whatever else works to freeze the side to side motion). As a side note: I hardly ever scroll this style game using edge of screen mouse shenanigans. Take a FPS though (which I also play a lot) and my mouse should technically be the equivalent of

No. My complaint is about the AI. If you play unlocked then for whatever reason the AI (those that have come in contact with the human player) will ignore other AI players and basically send all forces after the humanoid player. Does that make sense to you? This screenshot is from so early in the game (check the fleet ship icons) that it's fairly obvious one AI left his home systems basically defenseless to fly all the way across the system to assault the human player. The othe

Great news! 1.03 still doesn't work with Multiplicity. If I move control to the 2nd system for too long then none of the clicks work when I move control back to the Sins system. Hurray!

So with great hopes I cranked up a large map game in 1.03 with unlocked teams because by golly at some point I'd like to actually make allies. Within about 40 minutes I get this: I haven't even had time to do a 2nd mission with anyone to even get them to ceasefire percentages and yet 3 different AI players have already sent giant fleets at the 2 little worlds I have left. EDIT: YES THE AI JUST DESTROYED MY FO

Yea I agree. If you try and play anything beyond low level medium it becomes impossible within an hour of play. Seems like the AI is coded to expand until it meets another AI player, then build up massive fleets and send them all after the non-AI player. I tried a 6 player game this morning against 5 random AI players and within 1.5 hours or so I had 5 huge fleets at my borders... each with 2-3 battleships and 10-20 frigates & cruisers. It's an impossible situation.
