I have never played an online game that forces you to publicly use your mater login as your only public ID.
Everything using Microsoft's Live platform (Xbox 360, GfW), or anything on a PS3. There. A crudton of counter examples.
It does seem odd. The impulse login should be just to buy/update games. Once in games, game logins should be different.. that's pretty standard practise.
No it isn't. Games for Windows Live, SteamWorks, these are just two examples of the opposite of what you say is "standard practice".
If anything, Steam is the more obstrusive of the two. In fact, unlike Steam you don't require Impulse running to do multiplayer. And if I'm understanding how Impulse Reactor works, you don't even need it installed to do multiplayer (just to update)
Well, I am able to run it at max settings ("High" on every detail option, plus 16x anti-aliasing with my configuration. And the game looks (and plays) awesome! Noticed only two spots it slows down, and those are spots that to be honest I'm not surprised it did that for. Config is as follows: Custom-built Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.33GHz (4 cores) 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066MHz memory DirectX 10 Nvidia Geforce GTX260 wi
I'd say just leave it for a while. Near as I can tell, the infrastructure must be absolutely hammered, because it took me 10 minutes to get Impulse to even log in! (Course then I clicked "Install" and the darn thing starts instantly, so now I don't know what to tell you)
The key wont show in there at all until the release date. If you were in beta, the key will show but it will say it's invalid. Just be patient.
You'll be able to download it when Stardock processes your order. That may happen anytime from 9AM onward (their time, not yours).
Sooo... is it in the post yet?
It's the same everywhere that isn't America. Atari is handling sales outside North America, and as a result there is a 1 and a half month delay before we can get the game. You can circumvent this by buying directly from Stardock who will ship out the North American version of the game as soon as they see your money.
Im happy that I was able to obtain a copy on the weekend but I dont see why retailers have to "hold" the game longer if they already have it in stock. I would have liked to see other retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, GoGamer, etc) release or ship their games by last Friday too so we could have more people to play Pantheon with over the weekend.
Lots of reasons retailers are asked to hold off for street date
That's nothing. I have to wait until Tuesday local time. And to rub it in, Monday (today) is a public holiday. Bah! Bah, I say!
you guys make it seem like u never bought a game that was release early by mistake or something. bs
Actually? I haven't. Ever.
That's weird, my email doesn't say that. It says: " Thank you for your order. <span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: #000000; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-
Soo. wont the people who bought it pre-release just get a "update available" just like we in the beta get atm? I suppose they could still play Singleplayer but still..
Unfortunately no. Retail keys are actually valid right now, unlike pre-order keys. Which is annoying, because I really want to download that update so Impulse stops spamming me about it.
Damn, called in to all the GameStop and EBGames near me and they didn't have Demigod in stock. Guess Canada doesn't get them early yet :[
That's nothing. New Zealand has to wait until MAY for stock. And it's distributed by Atari, so we'll be lucky if the stock even shows up! (You see, Atari has this bad habit of losing our entire country's stock of a product for smaller publishers - they lost all of
Wait a second, you mean you Americans don't get Easter Monday off?!? Well, have a great holiday. Unfortunate for me I guess - I hae Monday off and you're not putting it up until Tuesday (local time)! Doh.
Stop whining. They charged me $20 to ship a game. Blizzard charged me $30! $10 is cheap !
This isn't as hard as you think. Basically, just get the image you want (make sure it is exactly the size of both your monitors across!) and set the display mode to "Tiled" in the background tab of display properties. That makes the image span both monitors without a single third party tool.
Yes, except for one tiny mistake - the old Games for Windows specification says that saved games for Vista go in the C:\Users\ \Saved Games folder, NOT Application Data, and the new one doesn't have any requirement at all for that - you can put them wherever the heck you want! If they're claiming it's because of the Microsoft logo specification, they couldn't be more wrong. Besides, Demigod already violates Games for Windows guidelines by having a shortcut in
I've got an even more confusing issue. I installed SoaSE retail from DVD, updated via Impulse, installed Entrenchment, and now SoaSE is missing entirely from Impulse. Entrenchment shows up on it's own though. If I run Entrenchment/SoaSE, it works fine (no crash or anything). But if I try to verify installation, it tells me Entrenchment isn't correctly installed. I assume I'm missing SoaSE updates too. What gives?
Quoting Aselith, reply 1 I'm sure if you want to cancel your order due to the delay that they will give you a refund. Feel free to call them and try. I've already emailed stardock support and await a reply. If that fails, I'll be submitting a claim via PayPal using the category for goods not as described.
I don't think Paypal will sympathise with you, to be honest.

If Beta 2 were closed or not out yet, you would not be charged until it was available.
Oh, well. Weird, I thought if you hadn't pre-ordered before the phase started you had to wait for the next one? Ah well. First time I've ever wished a beta WASN'T available though.
