I have just moved to Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, UK. It's much cooler than home with a weather that will keep you guessing. At least I have joined my family here and would be with them for a year! Research-wise, I had already started working on a project in June so it is pretty much on its way - hopefully! <!-- Ju-Anchor-Fo

It is common thought, that when you go, you go leaving a lagacy of what you have achieved, so that you could be remembered, by the world , country, town, company, friends or family. But when you have none of that and you still desire fame, that is when you start lighting those sticks of explosives cause you are going out with a bang! For most of us fading quitely away with as much as a ripple is what mostly happens

Density rescaling doesn't work. Now that I have the ellipsoids at the length that I want, I going to apply a field to align the ellipsoids in the center along the x-axis, in effect, creating a nematic phase in the center of the box.

Here the idea is to simulate a colloid near the Nematic-Isotropic (NI) Interface. I started off with a NI system with short ellipsoids kappa=5 and extended them to kappa=15. Problems: I loose the Nematic phase and it all becomes Isotropic Once that is done, I will introduce a colloid a distance D from the Interface, then proceed to run the simulation for dif

I set out to simulate a liquid crystal fluid using the Lebwohl-Lasher model in 3 dimensions. Then, I add the quadrupolar term to the interaction. Now, I am mapping the phase diagram of Order parameter (S) versus Temperature (T) for different Quadrupolar moments (Q) and box sizes (a*a*b) with a/b=1, 5 and 10. This would give me an idea of how the Nematic-Isotr

We started building this house at the end of September 2003. The site was a plot of land we bought back in 1998. It took us about a year to sort out the plans, get a building permission and - of course - sort out the money. Since then, things have been slowly progressing towards completion, which we expect is around the end of September 2004. Pictures of our h

Welcome to my blog. This is my first attempt at this, and has been quite a while since I did anything remotely like this (like the first webpage I wrote in 93/94). I hope you enjoy what you see or read, hey, it might even turn out to be coherent!!!!!
