To one of my opponents. I hope this is helpful. Near the end of 2v2 multiplayer game late on 3/15, someone asked a question about how far I had researched. I tried to answer but I didn't feel I gave good information. After the other team left, my teammate and I were looking at the graphs and I stumbled across something that was certainly key to the battle. One of our opponents had lost mucho mucho dinero by not updating thier planets properly. It took
light frigates stay in the blind spot of long range frigates via giving circular move orders that kept them firing but out of the enemy cone of attack.
That is a useful tip! Thanks!!!

In my opinion, most players of RTS and 4X games are using the games to satisfy their competitive urges and inflate their egos. (I know that is why I play. ;) ) SO.... How about a ranking system that behaves like a ladder. 20 rungs would probably be sufficient. There need not be individual rankings within each rung, but there could be. If you beat someone on a rung above you, you advance 1 rung. If you are beat by someone on a rung below you, you

I have played a couple of games with the new 1.03 patch. I had been playing with the fast game setting with no change to research speed, etc. Now I am playing will all settings on Fast. I notice that I seem to have loads more cash than I used to. Apparently, setting all of the speed settings to fast is not equivalent to the 'fast game' setting from before. Does anyone have any information or opinions about what combinations of Slow / Normal / Fast will make a

I just finished my first successful game. I was playing 1v1 vs Normal AI with no pirates. Here are my methods.. .your mileage may vary. One thing that works (at least for me) is Japanese Naval Doctrine -- try to mass most of your fleet and attack the opponent with overwhelming odds. Another thing I did was to direct the fleet during battle to attack capital ships. This usally sent the enemy into retreat mode. Thus the engagements were short and if I could kill one c

First of all, apologies if this is the wrong place to post this question. I would like to pull past messages from this forum to an offline reader of some sort. The reason for this is so that I can more easily mark what topics I have read, mark interesting topics for rereading by my wife who is trying to learn to play as I write. I have tried RSS Bandit on one of the forum categories and it does pick up the most recent topics. However, it seems to only pick up the first messag
