Not like it is that big of a deal or anything, but I was just wanting to know why terror stars still destroy an entire star system instead of just one planet. I figured that in GalCiv it was like that just because the individual planets were "inside" the stars per say. I just think that maybe there might be more strategy in destroying planets and turning them into mining colonies, rather than taking a cheap shot at an entire star system. Then again, i have to say, a war could turn around fast if

i gotta question too, along the line of star wars, will the new ship building allow us to make the ships that we all know and have come to love over the past history of star wars? I mean, my guess is there aren't going to be different shaped hulls (like sphere's for tie-fighters). But anyone could be wrong, and i sure hope i am!

Hey everyone, Since we're talking about planets here i thought i'd ask my questions, for anyone who knows or have played the beta. Is there any purpose in claiming a world that is a class one or two, for resource uses (like Mustafar on episode III)? and do the class one and two planets have different terrain types like lava and desert, or are they all green? thanks guys, can't wait

I do not have the Beta, and although I know that you all are in this time to look at the beta, this is someting I must discuss. I am playing a game( in Altarian Prophecy) in a gigantic galaxy map. First thing of the bat, the Independent League shows up. My first thought is "so what?". Then half my star systems rebel against me! Then I decided to declare war, to get back my star systems, of course. Well... I guess I don't know how war in that game works still, cuz I

You just give them general orders, like 'retreat', 'aggressive', 'raze'. They then follow those pre-determined behaviors in combat. You can go back and look at a battle to see WHY you won or lost, and see how to individual units moved... or you can just accept the loss and keep playing. wow... all i can say is... if

I really would like the option to rename planets of unowned or alien owned worlds. for some reason this seems like a really cool idea, i'm really hoping to see that, and yet at the same time i don't know why... o well it just sounds cool. What are the possibilities of this kinda thing being in the game?

ok, now i know everyones not looking for ideas, but i thought i'd better get it out there before i forgot. I'll probably post something similar to this later when the "ideas" come into play. But i just wanted to say that i don't understand why my people would ever want to give up there freedom to become part of another civilization, especially if we're at war with that civilization. I can see maybe that there influence from their products, such as clothes and food. F

I have to ask, how can there be so many people on a planet? i mean earth right now, could probably not support more people than it already has which is 6 bil..... so how can one planet have 100 billion people! that's a ton! so my question for all of you is, will there be pop. limits based on how big the planet is or how many useable tiles there are? because that is one thing I did not understand about galactic civ 1. or could someone try to clear me up on how in the

How bout this idea. When you colonise a planet, sometimes on a certain tile or tiles is an outstreched community of pre- industrial or pre- space travel race. These races could be kept there, to get a small bonus in economy from trade or could be taken out so that you could use the space that they occupy. Maybe even taken into slavery to get a small boost in manufacturing. There can be races that cover the planet (many tiles, 10 or so), and there can be races that ju

I believe part of what i'm about to say has been said in an earlier post but... just let me bring it up again. I wanted to know if there is going to be a list in the planet information window about the civilizations that have owned them previously. Because strange enough i've looked for something of this sort every game i've played even though i know it's not there. Even if it's simple as a list that says "previous owners" and states the civilizations "carinoids, dre

nihabited planets in the galaxy...? Will there be unihabitable planets that are filled with lava, or mephane gas, etc.? maybe i'm not catching the drift here, but that's how i've interpreted this new strategy.

I mean with the new user interface however, wouldn't it be possible to show the class in smaller font on the upper right hand side of the planet, on the main map?

I have one question, why were there space monster in Galactic Civilizations 1? Wut i mean by that is why would they all of a sudden at the turn of 2178 would they start attacking earth and such, why wouldn't they have attacked man kind before now. I just wanted to know if anyone knew the story behind this, and how space monsters will be handled in Gal Civ 2~<img src="http://images.stardockcentral.net/images/smiles/bigsmile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddl

But i have a question. won't even the largest of galaxies be smaller, because of star systems now taking up whole sectors. U know with the planets being on the main map now. How will this be handled?
