Ahhh, thanks. Very interesting stuff.

Nice, first link is broke, SoaSE Stuff link works though. Ummm, why is the illuminator (advent) have stats like a capital ship? That dps it is putting out also seems extremely low...
I just finished the 3v3 map where its 3 allys vs 3 and that was my best game yet, AI was still terribly lacking though. I learned of the attack and defend flare buttons after I already won the game so those would really help because the AI in the middle did jack squat all game, haha. I did see an AI build defenses so that must have been the Fort AI, but I wouldn't consider the defenses built a fort, a fort is when you get a 25 or 35 tactical unit base, not 3-4 guns and maybe 1 hangar.<b
Get up, get up get up get down, this AI is a joke in your town. Okay, I did participate in the beta, but still a lot of things changed from beta to release and I already am beating the AI quite handily. Play multiplayer? Well SOASE games take a long time and also my internet speed is acting up :( Games I've played: 4 player FFA Medium/Hard Flashpoint and Tempest Maps. 3 Hard Teamed AIs vs me Tempest/Flashpoint Maps 1v1 on Cynosian Rift Hard 1v1 on Gaian Cresc
[quote] I'm very interested in this. There is no complex interrelation in the units right now, it's insanely simple. Are the developers going to dramatically change the units roles? Because right now there are ships who deal damage and silly support ships that are quickly killed. I micro my cap ships abilities and then go work on my economy. Except, no, its not that way. Hoshiko's / Cielos are valuable units, that don't get used much more because of researc
AFAIK the devs have said they're going for a more complex interrelation of the ship roles, rather than a simple RPS model (Ship A > Ship B > Ship C > Ship A) as proposed here. You can press C to instantly zoom out to the system level, IIRC. Spacebar takes you to the location of the latest audio warning, and there's the event box too. I think the other Stardock guy got it right and I should use the empire tree as well as zooming out. I could use some red flashing when enemies are attacking to grab my attention more. But you have to remember that if I am involved in a battle I need to know VERY quickly if it's a second
First of all, the game works great on my computer, Pentium D 3.0 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, x1900xtx. 1680x1050 res. Haven't had any massive battles with lots of AIs to see if I can strain my machine because a huge game would take days. 1) The UI is missing a minimap. Okay maybe you don't want a minimap and want me to zoom around, ok. Consider this, in my first game I kept hearing the pirates launched thing but never saw any pirates and eventually one day I check out one of my far away planets and
