I'm in St. Petersburg, home of the not much going on. I have to say, if I gave you hope, I'm glad. I said many years ago I didn't want to be pushing 50 and be behind the counter of the store, saying to customers, "is there anything else today?" and hating every minute of it. It's a huge step, and it's kind of scary, but it feels like the right thing to do. I'm up for a new adventure, and I don't want to be old wishing I had done something else.</

Well, I didn't actually lose it, I'm leaving it for better fortunes. They don't want me to go, but can't pay me what I want. Besides, after a while it is time to move on. And if, for some reason, it doesn't work, they will take me back. But I don't plan on it not working!

Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Dimebag Darryl. While I would agree that most of your list are fine musicians, not all would fit into the category of "performing artist", that is, someone you would see playing and be totally amazed at what they were able to do. Well, the way it looks to me is you are more interested in the creative process, as opposed to the end result. I imagine you will be a fine engineer or architect one day. And there is nothing wrong with that.
