I hope it comes out and my card is charged within the next 6 months, or my card will expire and I'll have to reorder! This happened with Entrenchment...

I realized that there isn't supposed to be a fuzzy pad on the back of the video card fan/heatsink unit. It is indeed an exhaust port. Pictures finally clued me in! About 2 seconds of vacuuming completely cleared the port, and now everything runs so cool, and I can even overclock. There must have been 0 airflow through the card at this point, and it still only overheated at 4X antialising (max settings 1600x1200) but not at 2X...
You could just do what I did and buy both... They're both different types of games at the core, and suit a different mood of play. If you can wait though, wait till the expansions are out and you can purchase a combined pack with everything. Patches always improve things too. That's what I did with Oblivion, and I'm the happier for it. I liked Sword of the Stars too, as that is yet another different type of game than either GC2 or SoaSE. SotS is a mature game, I thi
I take it with the removal of the watchlist button that the watchlist is gone for good?
I want my Watchlist back. I was using it like a hound before this update.
I have noticed that the filenames given in the game for saved games and .record files do not correspond to the names of the files in the folders for saved games. Even the number of items (saved games) does not correspond to the number of files in the respective folders. It makes it very hard to back up saved games so they don't show on the list. It seems like there is dependency with other files/folders, and that if you save separate names for the same game (I successively number them), that
I'm using windows XP Pro. I only have one user on the system.
Ok, that makes sense. But what do you do if the game doesn't recognize any foreign (not made by itself) .record files no matter where I put them? They don't show up on any of the lists... I'm sure I have the right data folder location, as all my save games appear there, and when I delete them in game, they are deleted from the neighboring relevent folders. I even accidently pressed that dreaded delete all in category button and cleared all my saved games once (Grr). I've been trying
I have never downloaded a .replay file and got the game to show it in the list of files in the watch tab (for any type). How does the game recognize .replay files that you download from other players? I have found the folders required. Does the .replay file have to be in the same exact folder that it was originally saved in (if it was saved in the Single-Player folder, does it need to be loaded from that folder, rather than the AutoSaved folder)? Do multiplayer files have to be loade
I know, I know, my last card was an nVidia, and I trust them, but they had more pixel shader pipelines with this card at the time I was shopping... I think I'll go back to GeForce next time, though I'm not angry at ATI for any reason. As for dust, it is a problem from time to time, and it might need a little vacuuming... When you say keep the processor clear of dust, do you actually take the huge fan thing off? I'd be very weary of doing that, since I killed my mobo trying to
Hello all, I don't know if anyone else in this world owns an ATI X1900XT. The game runs perfectly fine at all settings, including the maximum. My video card runs hot, and at the maximum antialiasing, it overheats and starts to beep at me. If I take it out of full screen mode, but have the window maximized, it doesn't quite overheat. My screen resolution is always set to 1600X1200 for both desktop and game in all modes. If I want to do full screen, I just knock it bac
Well, I guess I'm glad I didn't start playing at 11:30 PM when I had to be up at 7:00 AM. It would've been a long night, and made today even longer.
The game doesn't seem to recognize the replays I put in from this website https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=72 I tried it in the various folders in the folder suggested above. Also, making a test file ingame, I couldn't find the corresponding .record file in these folders either. There was a file with a different name created that I deleted, but the saved game still appears in game. How does the game recognize .record files and display them to be
I preordered the game when I realized they won't charge me until it comes out in August. I was happy with preordering GalCiv2 Dark Avatar, and I expect similar with this game. 33
I'm guessing it must be coming out in a box/retail form with manual as it is going to stores? Or, is it like GalCiv2 Dark Avatar and mainly digital download only? If it is box/retail with manual, do preorders get that, or just the CD/DVD(s)?
It wasn't.
I understand that the opening of beta will be in the first half of February, in which a preorder still may be made to get the beta upon ordering? I hope it will be obviously posted on the news page.
I am finding SoTS an excellent game. Of course there could have been improvements, but I am enjoying it. I do like the 3D starmap actually. I do agree that it is challenging to use, but I enjoy it. I would like it more if stars were aranged into systems, and maybe even have multi-galaxy something like Hegemonia, but that's far too complex. I do agree the RT space battle component could be better, and also there are some glaring interface control issues. The update o
