this is covered in the in-game tutorial. fleet management iirc. heh, no such thing as a boring strategy, if there is then its not strategy O.o;
iirc, like the novalith cannon. only this one disables enemy structures for a time. hardl works for the AI since in my games they barely set up defenses =P
there are no alliances. only cease fires (since you didnt lock teams =P)
some planets have "exploits" that can be found through "excavating". while other planets already have them, i have a volcano planet that says "PENAL COLONY: 20% more build time and 20% costlier". if you have the info card turned on just hover your cursor to the planet and it should tell you if that planet has any special things.

holy lord, this thread was from last year....
not to spoil the party but if you make it so the pji STOPS enemy phase jumping then does that affect the superweapon if its all the way in the back of your empire? you guys have to think this through with all the gameplay elements combined. if this happens in multiplayer then how the hell can a human player attack a superweapon on the other end the other human empire?
the custom map generator is fun, once you realize how to fiddle with the sliders. ive made myself a 6 player 2 star system map which has about 90 planets =P.

heh, i have a similar first time experience. 4v4 ffa on a medium map, 1 star system, about 12 planets. i started 3 or 4 pm and im still playing the damn thing, whats worse....I DIDNT NOTICE THE TIME! i thought it was only an hour when i looked at the clock is said 8 pm!. and im not even halfway through. i barely have half the map conquered...and it looks like im gonna loose a few more planets. maybe its because i have slow game speed and slow research speed on =P...should try n
is there a file i can edit that makes it so its always war time? even the ai is at war with each other? i just cant fathom the 3 races in this game working together.....with the intro lore and all. also, im playing a 4v4 match and it seems to me that the AI only attacks me. everytime i see em all bunched up in an asteroid field they dont attack each other, instead, they all go in their separate corner and when my ship arrives they all move towards it. ANNOYING! any hel
haha, that would be something. if your empire is sooo huge that you cant even find your own superweapon that keeps autofiring on your own colonies. hehe.
simple solution, bring 2 fleets =P. 1 chasing and 1 right behind. also, the super weapon can fire at any planet in the system i believe, not sure since i only built 1 so far...and i was too busy looking at how huge it is. also, MORE FLEETS! in my game, i usually have 1 main fleet, 1 back up fleet, 1 siege fleet, and 2 defensive fleets. that way im all covered =)
screw that. there is no diplo in this game. i mean the "Demands" the AI gives you are insane. besides, arent the 3 races supposed to be at war all the time? :SURPRISED:
