It still is not working and I tried accessing when I was in another state as well. What does my trace route say?

It appears that the site is gone or there are excessive timeouts. Could the administrators check on this or give an explanation? One cannot get to galciv.com either.
Actually, it is back down again. If this continues, I won't be able to submit my next game...
I am one of those old gamers who prefer GalCiv I over GCII. I finished a game and was going to post in Metaverse, but not only could I not post my game, but the whole website was unavailable. What gives?
It is fixed now, I was able to post
Thanks a lot! Can you tell us what was wrong? Was it related to the problems earlier?
Why dont they do the same fix as last time they had this problem?
GalCivII seems to be a kludge addon toe GalCivI. The wonders dont work as well, and you are limited in what you build. I would rather they retrofitted GalCivI so we can see how long it takes to a given space, etc.
After removing any enemy ships stationed on the planet, you take transports or later combat transport full of troops and land on planet.
I take that back, my last score submitted was 3/27
I was able to submit a score in early April
Having some of your planets not producing seems odd, unless you are colonizing planets that are less than 15 in planet quality, or your social or military production is set very low. Can you tell the difference between a planet that is producing and one that is not?
which update (#) are you referring to? I do not have this issue, but I have not gotten any updates lately.
I ultimately made my new laptop a dual boot (vista/xp), but then the vista worked fine with GC1. I think I fiddled with vista controls.
However, after some of the patches to GC1, the 5bc/turn maint fee went away. Even if it stayed, the starbase is important for three reasons: extending the range of your ships, harvesting resources, and having benefits (with the higher techs) to your planets.
Man, has it been a year already?
Not true, look at my scores (although I have not posted any lately)
I just found out that 30 posted wins will get you Rear Admiral. I think 20 may get you captain or commodore
There is a link somewhere with the exact info. I believe it is a certain number of wins posted with a certain minimum score
Does anyone want to talk politics?
But regular attacks are free. If you have enough troops (use merged transports as fleets) or good tech- I always get the Tir Quan wonder.
I think not. I am still here. Many play the game without supmitting scores or participate in forums. Some of us have intermittant internet connections which make it hard to submit games (or it is done in bunches)
