http://www.trubritarforums.com/index.php?showtopic=92 My nub proof guide to GPU's. A 8800 GT is 10-20x faster than your current onboard GPU! and would allow you to max settings at 1680x1050 in sins no issue. I would check your mobo manufacturers forums to see if anyone had issues with GPU upgrades with that mobo, from you said it has a PCIE 16x slot, but it would need to be 1.1 f
Personally I would keep 2 Gb in a 32 bit OS, you'll see little improvement for adding the extra 1 GB, and the extra 1 Gb can play havoc on some motherboards as 2x 512 stick with your current sticks, you general have to match the speeds of the current sticks as well so it can be a real headache unless you buy 4gb as 2 x2 Gb stocks and throw away your old ram! THERE IS NOTHING wrong with adding 2x 2Gb sticks in XP 32, Sp3 will "see" all 4 Gb but only use upto
You might need to reinstall your GPu drivers or check for monitor drivers, when you change screen this can happen in some games they won't see the new resolution avaiable unless you reinstall your GPU drivers or add new display drivers. There may be a way to "hardset" a new display res in a game config file, most games can do this.
As for second hand games, this is a issue for the PC world, second hand games generate no profit for the games devs or publisher. If a PC game costs £20-25 I don't expect to be able to resell it. If it cost £4000 like say 3d studio max, i also can't resell it! We buy a license if we consider the fee resonable as long as we can always use the license thats fair. I don't mind paying £50 for Vista 64 OEM, w

I guess I shouldn't take everything so seriously...[/quote] i was so impressed i marched off and bought Sins, already had Supremme Commander and Space Siege, the mere fact of no poxy DVD-CD ROM DRM is enough to make me buy a game. I've had crysis making strange noises in my DVD drive since last NOV.
Well after seeing the "Gamers Bill of rights", I thought I would support Stardock and Ironclad and march to my local HMV and buy the boxset of SINS. I knew the game was low budget compared to many RTS game I love, like World In Conflict, Supremme Commander and Company of Hero's, so expected bugs galore, naff graphics, technical issues with Vista 64, Widescreen, Sli or CF, my GTX 280 or 4870x2 drivers and quad core CPU's. To my horror, (I did immediatly grab the lastest patch).
