Don't see any problems with the AV or the firewall. Also had already verified my files on Steam. Did it again today just in case. Same problem. I have lots of games on steam GC3 only one that won't run. It used to run without problems. Maybe has something to do with the Stardock Launcher. Thank you guys for trying to help. I have submitted a ticket to Stardock so I'll just wait and see what they say otherwise back to GC2.

Haven't played in some time but when I tried today I get the following error Your Path system environment does not contain "Windows\system32". I never had any problems starting the game previously and nothing has changed on my computer 64 bit Windows 7, cpu i7-3770; 16 Gig mem, amd Radeon HD7000 Can someone help me with this.

Windows update indicates there is 3 important updates are available ( 111.8 MB total), however when I try to install them it fails every time. I have tried this almost 20 times but it fails every time. It doesn't seem to download anything as it always indicate 0% complete. The error I get is Code 800F081F Windows update ran into a problem. I have run the Windows update readiness tool for Windows 8 but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
FYI In my previous post where I said it was working in a window I found I couldn't scroll the screen. After more investigation my problem is now solved. I changed the display font size which was set at 125% by the vendor to 100% and the game now runs fine. I guess I'll just have to get used to the smaller font size on 1920x1080 resolution.
Kyro FYI I finally got it to work but it is in a window. I did this by changing the valve in the prefs.ini file of MaxTextureAtlasHeight to 1024. However, once in the game if I change the resolution to 1920x1080 which is my desktop. It requires a restart and when I restart I am back to the original problem. I then go into prefs.ini and change the resolution back to 1024x768 it again works but in a window.

The game is installed in G: Stardock Games/FallenEnchantress, the UAC is set to Default. I downloaded and installed 2005 runtime Libraries and the Antivirus installed is Microsoft Security Essentials. I tried to run the game again but have the same problem mentioned in the OP.

I had the same problem. Managed to fix it by uninstalling all my apps from impulse. Then SDC would work and I had to reinstall my apps with SDC.
Bara I resolved the problem I was having. After reading all forum posts I uninstalled all the apps I had in the Impulse/Gamestop app. After that SDC now works with no errors.
Sorry about that ID. The error I am getting after installing SDC is There was a problem trying to get the list of updated software:Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Maybe you can advise.
