Question about ordering... in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I would like to purchase GalCiv, but what I'm wondering is, if I purchase the "CD" option, can I still go ahead and download it today (and have a serial number so I can play)? Also, when the CD comes, will it be in a normal retail package with guide book? Thanks in adavance.
