I totally agree with OP on the zoom. I HATE it when I zoom in and all of a sudden my screen starts moving with a unit. Especially when I am trying to focus target a ship or place an ability.

You can always have a "5th player" who hosts the match. Once the game starts have him surrender, but watch the game. That way the computer is still hosting the game, but no additional resources are used by the computer since the fifth player isn't actually playing. Not sure if this would work, but it seems logically possible.

I humbly disagree Megavolt. I don't disagree with the numbers. I disagree with your opinion on the validity of pursuing the tech and when it is applicable in battle. If I have a balanced fleet consisting of heavy cruisers, assailants, and carriers, the cruisers will work on the shields while the assailants and bombers do a 60/40 (in your example) shield/hull mix and the cruisers doing 100% shield damage. Since most of the ships are balanced that way with shields/hull points,

I have seen and done this on several occasions. I always max phase missiles. You are correct in that not all of the damage hits the hull, but the more research you do the more damage is done to the hull vs mitigation against the shields. I have always started with the missile cap ship as it annihilates the militia frigates guarding planets, especially the cobalts as they have shields. Phase missiles are extremely important playing against the Advent. Advent [B]are[/

Have you ever played GalCiv2 mtn man? Random events are fun and can jump start or derail your activity in the game. It would be great to have random things happen. Perhaps create a civ tech that allows you to be warned of an impending event on a planet. Similar to enemy phase jump techs in the game. Solar Flares, asteroids (NPC character that can be destroyed and acts like a siege unit), "space Worms", etc.

The mechanics of a dynamic multiplayer game are possible (check out World in Conflict or any MMORPG). The question is if it is possible for ICO to continously monitor each game's status (e.g. unit position/movement, planet's held, number of players allowed/in-game, number of slots available, and resources) and have that updated in real time so that if there is a spot open a player can then join and continue without missing a beat. There is a lot more information in SOASE that needs to be conti

I commend Ironclad and Stardock on their development of this AI. For any RTS'er that has played Starcraft, Warcraft, AOE, EaW, and pretty much any other modern game in a multiplayer setting, you know that players come up with these rushing tactics for early game winning. Why not program the AI to be smart enough to mimic human behavior? Isn't that the end goal. After all we are programming an artifical intelligence that is made to survive. I mean what would be the point of

My .02 cents is that your strategy and how you play game may draw out the game. I can attest to xboxerdude's gameplay. my ICO login is caboaddict. The game was about an hour or so in when xboxerdude came at me with 4 capital ships and very few frigates. I won't embarass him too much with what the outcome was of our battles. needless to say the amount of resources spent on research and building of the 5+ capital ships could have gotten you a much larger force a lot sooner i

If you purchased the game you should have received an email from Stardock with the details of the purchase and the CD key for you product. Just copy and paste the key from the email into sins ICO login screen and away you go.
