Just checked Red Alert 3. It has Securom. So there's two forms of protection!!??!! TWO forms of DRM. Securom and Impulse. Count me out. At least Impulse by itself is tolerable. Adding to it is not!! :(

Thanks to everyone that came in on thier day off. I'm sure I speak for all beta-testers and preorderers when I say that we all appreciate the extra effort you guys make for us. Happy Easter
I like this developer. Very down to earth. Ashley rocks!!!
I think Strategic zoom icons and a minimap should be there. But only as options. I think a player's preferrance depends on play-style. Perhaps having a colored icon for Allied assassins/generals can make a big difference.
Adding in Mouse edge scrolling is a must . One of my first instincts was to try to move the screen by edge scrolling. This is a standard feature in most RTSes that I've played. The Zoom with the scroll wheel is great. Always like it when more games have that. Mouse edge scrolling adds in that extra fine tuning to your vision that makes playing more natural-feeling.
Northern Ohio Here. Didn't get it yet. It usually takes about a week or 2 for physical copies from Stardock because they use the regular US postal Service. It was a week or 2 for Galciv, GalCiv2 Dread Lords, and GalCiv2 Dark Avatar. I'm thinking tomorrow, Saturday, or Monday. (Unless there's a holiday on Monday) No Rush if you download it though. The Boxed copy is already outdated. I usually get it as a backup.
I was playing around with the map generator in the game and came up with 1 player vs Pirates. Would that be a good practice set up to just go up against only the pirates? Can Pirates colonize worlds? Can Pirates combine forces from multiple bases? Probably can't "Bid Away" the pirates. It'd be an interesting scenario for someone who is learning the game anyway. Is it feasible to set up a scenario where you are alone with about 10 or so pirate bases? Thou
I believe you can make an archive within SDC and then make a copy of the archive on the laptop. Install SDC there and point it to the archive.
THIS is an AWESOME post. I Don't see EA doing this. Besides Ironclad/Stardock, nobody is into the gamer as much as Sins' and GalCiv's makers are. I've been into games since the 70's and I don't see this kind of thing very often. Actually almost brought a tear to my eye. This is why I buy these games from these guys. I KNOW FOR A FACT that it'll be worth EVERY PENNY, sight unseen. Signed:A loyal customer . ... . P.S.: Is this in the manual? lol It should be there with the tutorial!!
