Can any Ironclad or Stardock mods just please lock this thread once and for all. There's nothing of any substance being contributed here anyway.
You have to practice? And you'll get better if you do? And the people who practice the most are better than the others? What kind of messed up game is this? I certainly never remember having to learn maps in Starcraft or Dawn of War. This is a travesty! Ironclad, you must do better! At least put in a facility where I can opt not to play in games on static maps which I'm not hosting!
No dumb dumb. I posted proposed ideas and solutions for this reply #89. Besides up until
sore loser mode becuase you essentially got ganked once in an online game your not proficient in yet
Good grief your assumptions little more. People have vomited this crud on this thread numerous times. Each and every attempt I have made on this thread has produced a repetition of this sort of thing. I'll post a "survey said" and "vote here" box for ya.
You guys sure to seem to non respond to the basic idea of this post that the MP mode gives an advantage to the host. I felt annoyed previously due to these sort of blast away at the OP type of responses. If you don't like the post don't leave disparaging comments.
Sigh.. this was obviously directed at Aspartic and his BS comment. Your response Tropical Squash at least addressed game play, whereas many of the so called comments in this thread made no such attempt. So muc
The fact that attitudes like yours STILL exist in this day an age is baffling. Just when I think mankind is starting to rise up from the murky recesses of stupidity and arrogance, nature pushes us back in with a curveball named BigDogBigFeet.
I didn't do this bullshit to any of your posts!

Never mind. I give up. I'm unwilling to participate in this at all. What an annoyance.
Ah sideshow and rayredlab. I think you are expressing perfectly why I will not be having anything further to do with this MP style of play. I'm not interested in your characterizations of me or what I am doing. I pointed out what is clearly an exploit. I don't care what you think because you don't really care what I think. Which has been the way of it around here with a large number of these so called responses.
Oh, and so people have a chance to digest this a bit more, these opponents did absolutely no asteroid or planet development during these first 5 to 10 minutes. All their monies were spent on fleet and pirate bribe timed to their arrival at my home planet. My early effort to explore my nearest asteroid and 1 planet, then begin development simply fit into their "Strategy". Wasted resources, all monies should have been spent on fleet and defend home world to counter this. Not my idea of a game.
BigDogBigFeet, online gaming is like this; MP games, or PvP in games like GW or WoW. Internet connection, sense of humor, and laid back attitude required. Eventually you begin to have good experiences, but I always keep a tube of glue on the desk so when someone hands me my arse I can reattach it quickly. Or, board games with live people. Chess? you wanted to play positional and your opponent opens up the game with a cheap tactical combo, and being rattled you get down a piece an
You simply aren't good at this game.
You've missed my point. I've indicated my basic experience with it. I see what happened as a couple of individuals "playing" by a set of perhaps group established rules where the only thing missing for their fun is unwitting dupes. That's what I believe happened. Furthermore my valid points that these so called strategies are merely exploits of game weaknesses whereby fair competition becomes impossible remains. Eliminate
I can't tell if you are an emotionally retarded 40 year-old janitor or a 15 year-old Howard Cho look-alike; probably the latter judging by the confused attempts at stringing together three syllable words. Regardless, something isn't a "true game" just because you aren't good at it; I mean, we wouldn't even have writing if that weren't true. I team up in FFAs because I read posts like yours. Some people like playing sim city in space, building their pretty utopia and marching thei
Playing RTS games online has always been a load of horse shit. 'Strategy' is a myth and really has no bearing at all on how "RTS" games are played online.
I think you're correct. My reply #25 sums up this so called srategy. It is really exploiting specific prior knowledge that the so called "Host" and his partner had. There was also the remarkable coincidence that my partner was nowhere to be found. Pre-arranged timing? Simply a fluke? Who knows? I don't really care
Excuse me JinxofSin. If you wanted to participate in that kind of stupidity then do it. If you want a game that is widely popular with new players then what you have to have is an MP mode that the odds cannot be stacked against the unwitting. To eliminate this sort of BS, as I said from my end of it, so that the playing field is more level some simple sensible changes could be made. All open MP maps should be random instead of pre-chosen by the "Host" eliminating map specific so called "stra
lol wut? Also thanks for supporting IronClad (+40$)
Read the post it's very good and expresses my end of it perfectly. The attitude displayed by your numerous responses of this type are purely exploitive. Since this is something you enjoy well then chow into it. I won't be back for it. I think what many have been expressing is really a rather callous view of what a game is and indicative of today's culture: steroids, extreme and ultimate fighting, doping, fixi
Look are you familiar with the old let's do Blah blah blah and find a scape goat pigeon to be on the receiving end of it. If it were Chess there would at least be a visible playing field. As you are well aware the expectation is it's reasonable to believe at least a portion of the game is to build an empire. At least that was my belief. It was misplaced because this was little more than being on the receving end of a stacked orchestrated eliminate this guy BS. So, I'm not into that. I would
I decided to write this because I can't see this MP mode as even being a game it isn't. If this were cards you might have some sense of a game and there would be the random happening of card distribution and player ability that could constitute some feeling of participation and fun. I have discovered that so called players aren't really interested in playing they're interested in stacked odds and exploting the unknowing noobs. I will never partcicpate in any further so cal
I would email with full details about your CD key already in use and/or account not found errors.
What error message? Be specific. Did you register and activate the game? Did you buy the retail box or purchase and download?
Well thanks, didn't know to hit the enter key. I didn't host but, shortly after the host left what was already a bad routing by the AI's got a whole lot worse quickly. They kept chatting and indicating what they thought they would do but, they kept losing capital ships early on. Just before I left as I neared capturing one AI's planet, my home world was attacked by 2 AI's with 4 times my entire fleet and this was early on, within the first 30 minutes. I gave up. My nearest human player had
Well, I tried my first MP game tonight. It was a total disaster. First, I could not figure out how to chat with other players. I still don't know how. The chat is well hidden. Second the AI it was a 4x4 was agressive well coordinated and we were wiped quick. The host dropped out allied losses of Capital ships was regular. I held on to my one while attacking but as I almost finished off one of the AI's planets my home world was assaulted with t
Stardock hs a reputation for supporting their work. I have not tried MP mode yet, since I'm still working at improving my game. I do know if MP is in there it will be supported. And, also I've read in other posts that a storyline is in the works. So.. read the forums. You can also submit a support ticket with sufficient detail to describe the problem. They'll respond. ;)
Isn't that your Allegiance stat?
Ya, that's it. The maximum it goes to depends on the distance from your home world. However, other players who use these can cause the allegiance on your planet to fall. Rates vary by map also. The Gaia map is horrible for this and I don't play it.
Cultural beacons build loyalty and hence output. The stronger your culture(loyalty) the higher your income and mining rates. Build the cutural beacons and trade posts especially in medium maps on up. Don't know how to make use of replays either. Anyone know?
