It sounds more like an added layer of annoyance Fuel and such works fine in 4x games, but there's enough to worry about in Sins that adding a fuel system would just make it frustrating.
Sadly most strategic elements proposed were labeled as annoyance. Actually you got it completely correct; fuel and such work for 4X games - and Sins was supposed to become one. RT4X, remember? Also I guess with all the capship babysitting going on there is not enough time for any
2. i can't my parents won't let me buy beta anything?
Generally your parents are quite right. It's far more reliable to wait for the game and read some reviews before spending your allowance!
Super! What happens to nodelines?
And you should have the ability to set minimum treasury/cache! Otherwise you'll get trapped in your own building queue when you need someting done NOW. Or perhaps this would be done better with a way to set building priorities. It could only affect the items you checked (like the three Gauss' that you wanted immediately), the rest continues as was queued.
which takes more clicking, plus you have to do it EVERY SINGLE TIME they enter a new grav well
Couldn't agree more.
got a bit cluttered after we settled on times, here
I don't have a firewall problem, I have a router problem. I'm behind a router and my provider isn't prepared to forward the ports to me. It's "too much of a P2P risk". They said that the ports are open but not forwarded. I'll try to join the announced games and hope for the best. What port will the host be using?
I know, and it is far from any formation or fleet behaviour. But I wouldn't worry too much - Ironclad is working on it.
Could somebody please tell me what port am I supposed to have for hosting/joining? I've fiddeld with MP options and I get disconnected almost instantly.
There aren't any formations in the game yet... When the advanced fleet AI is implemented such actions as LRMs staying away from the enemy should be automatic. The grav well is too small for any real formations anyway.
The homoerotics in this thread is just too much...
Does Stardock deliver throughout EU in boxes, too? Because interestingly enough some delivery companies that advertize all-EU delivery fail to notice that EU has grown over the last decade...
Yeah, I was really holding out for the mutiple (fully functional) planets in a single gravity well ability.
That would be GREAT, really. Binary planets, a planet with (a) moon(s) etc. It would also make some gravity wells bigger and more tactically challenging.
links ships together so they operate as a unit instead of as individuals.
That sounds SO awesome...
Fleets right now don't act as fleets if you don't count the system-system movement. Otherwise there is no fleet cohesion. Packs of same-type-ships start rolling around, that's it. In reality it would be as if all the destroyers from a carrier group went after submarines and all the cruisers went after other cruisers (or something), leaving the carrier on it's own. It never happens. But AI is in the works so I'm sure this will change.
I proposed [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=440&aid=164918#1332916"]planetary managers[/link] that would basically do the same for planetary structures/developments. There was no dev answer but Ron definitely nailed it with "it's too late". So I'm guessing this will be the same. Otherwise I definitely agree that paying in advance is not realistic but it makes things much easier for the developers. And if you don't have an economy model with interests built in it doe
Great to hear!
Good question. Because after a while all asteroids are completely depleted and if you haven't researched the "better mining" techs much sooner than it may be a complete waste of money/resources to do it afterwards.
I agree with Ron. This is a superb command option - using one button with two functions. Perhaps the tutorial should be more firm in making a player use it a couple of times with each functiona but that is it.
I'd just like your two companies to stop complimenting and start complementing each other.
Do I need an open port? Because I was testing the MP and I had problems... I'm behind a router.
I'd love the selling of resources
Agree completely! It would also be cool to be able to have different prices for allies/normal free-for-all black market. I guess you'd have to have an option to set a limit to resource reserves you want to have at your disposal (so that it wouldn't all be bought jsut when you need it most)...
That would be 5 pm here so I guess I might be able to attend. IF my friend doesn't become a father yet and my mom doesn't get ideas about what has to be done around her house, he he he!
Eh, I don't think the Mobile Infantry's armor really counts -- even though it could double as a spacesuit.
Perhaps, but IT'S COOL! I really missed it in the movie.
While I agree most authors don't bother with space suits some of the best still do. "Have Space Suit - Will Travel" and "Starship Troopers" by Robert A. Heinlein revolve around them (in a way) for instance.
Thanks for the answer and the tip!
