Well the worlds largest carousel in the house on the rock is in the wonderful novel American Gods by Neil Gaiman. And I'll throw in some more names from one of my favourite SF series: Clavain and Triumvir Volyova
Thus, if the devs nerf illuminators, we would certainly expect to see more homozygotes (aa). This is evolution.
Nice one cscoles :)
Suffice it to say you have faith in evolution, I have faith in God.
No. I have faith in the scientific method. Peer reviews and constructive criticism. That lead me to the logical conclusion that, as the theory of evolution is founded on the principles of the scientific method, and is accepted by the scientific community, it is a viable theory. If they discover a better theory i will believe in that, as long is it based on the scientific method and empirical evidence.<br/
To write a post explaining all that I believe would take up a lot of time and space that few would ever read. You may not agree and that is OK, but I think some of these things bear consideration.Let me give a few bulleted points to part of this topic. 1. Both Creation and Evolution are a matter of faith. Neither side can fully prove its point without a measure of faith.(e.g. Where did matter come from in the first place?)Creation looks outside the material universe for answer
Well, the post reads "a alien race wich uses organic(biological, living)ships". And of course it could be cliche, but yes, it depends on how Ironclad/Modder X executes it. And the concept of the TEC is more a cliché then biological ships to me.
Wow, i loved that series when i was a child! It would be really nice to see it in a mod.
Such a cliche.
As opposed to TEC, the Advent and the Vasari? There's nothing wrong with cliches, as long as they fit the context.
Simple. No theory should be taught in scientific classes if not accepted by the scientific community. Evolution is. ID is not. And to SemazRalan:
and yes, homosexual and heterosexual fornication are equally sinful according to the bible regardless of what liberal, heretical theologians, laity and priests say.
So is eating shrimp and working on the Sabbath. Yet there's never any heated debate about the abominators that indulge in sinful shrimp eating or howev
I bet Minidump is secretly employed by Starforce, harassing our community to punish Stardock for the no DRM stance. And the similar name. :)
If I was rude or disrespectful in anyway, PLEASE, let me be the first to apologize. It wasn't my intention. More my intention to lay out things the way I see them. All good points for 1 - 3. Especially #2. I think it could really make taking capital ships against the Advent fleets really painful!
Ah, sorry. It wasn't directed at you. You hadn't even posted when i wrote it :) Forgot to refresh before posting, as usual.
Howdy, i just wanted to add a little to the discussion. Let me state that I'm just a casual player, mostly playing against the AI (unfair) or small maps with/against friends. 1) Are strike craft really that bad? I play mostly Vasari, and when i micro my 20-30 squads of bombers/fighters (i have a 50/50 ratio) they usually take out any non-capship on one run. At least when i have upgraded the missiles. 2) The idea of making cap ships immune to repulsion seems like a bad idea. W
I concur. Team mates should always start adjacent to each other when teams are locked.
Ah just read the interview with Brat Wardell on Gamasutra. "Gas Powered Games has converted over to the way we're doing things." One down, a gazillion more to go! :)
Supreme Commander was with serial check only for patches and online play from the start.
Nice! Demigod seems like it could turn out to be a interesting and different game. The trailer made me think of a battle-centric Overlord. That said, didn't Chris Taylor recently speak out against piracy (understandably) and urged for more DRM (no!) and games hosted on secure servers (no please)? You guys (and girls?) at Stardock must be a pretty persuasive bunch of people :) Gongrats anyway for getting a big release from a big company!
The outer counter acceleration would simply move the entire firing operatus forward with precisely the same force that was being applied to the projectile being launched.
Don't you mean backwards and not forwards? Doesn't this mean that the projectile stays put?
I'd like to see another faction, multiple victory conditions, and refinement of the political system.
Agreed And a campaign would be nice, even if only to tell the story behind the game.
Seconded! If i ever meet any of you in the real world, i promise I'll buy you a beer. Or two.
Woo... clan leader of MAGOG! Nice. Don't think i actually played against you in WiC, but I'm sure my clan TnT has. Lately I've made my own clan though, the -=KoKoK=- Kommunist Konspiracy Ink (In Wic), for 2 vs 2 matches only (as TheRealLeif). Invitation sent. Damn, seems i actually have to start using xfire. Well. My user name is theleif in Xfire, TheLeif in steam and theleif in Skype. Just add me if you find me likeable. And welcome to Sins!
There's a problem with auto downloading for this games as the multiplayer game is not server based, but peer based. You don't have a server hosting the game like you have in COD 4 from where you can download mods. "Then those same people dont even have the enough consideration to give back to the community; since of course their entire reason for getting involved (I use that word loosely) was to make a profit on the back of the community in the first place. That is called exploitation
Well, we do need a place for easy access to maps and mods. I'd like that at least. But i think the modders (i.e not me) should decide on this.
Was about to post something about this as well. So, you can turn that off? Nice!
Heh... I'm in more or less the same situation right now, in a 10 player game. What I'm trying right now is to build a sizeable fleet of Siege Frigates and try to wear down the oppositions colonies to impede them to reinforce their huge fleets. Just have to find a way to manage to make that fleet come past the opposing fleets... Good luck, you'll need it.
It’s probably worth noting that the Advent have an entire interstellar cannon that fires PURE F’IN LOVE across massive distances, impacts a target gravity well, and causes the people on the planet in question to swoon and think happy thoughts about them. If it’s any help, play the Advent and imagine the bolts of psychic energy descending from the heavens over the besieged worlds is made of Pink Ponies and Pure Rainbows, convincing the popul
