I'll look into Object Desktop. Thanks, everyone.

Hmmm...
Thanks everyone. I already have Windowblinds and Icon packager, so there's not much sense buying the whole Object Desktop suite. I'll look into Avedesk.
I took a look at Desktop X, and while it looks cool,I'm not all that interested in a lot of the Desktop X features...I just want to make a few of my desktop icons larger, that's all. Is there anyway short of buying Desktop X to do what I want?
Where would I get Avedesk? Is it reliable?
I was wondering if IconX can change the size of individual icons. For example, I use IconPackager, and I can make icons 64x64- the custom icons look great (because they are part of a package that includes 64 x 64 sizes), but the software icons on my desktop (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) look lousy at 64x64. Will IconX allow me to change, say, just the "My Computer" and recycle bin icons to a larger size without resizing everything else? Would it be able to do it just on the desktop (I don't wan
Thanks!
than again, it could be your configuration and WB/Illustrator - I found a few posts concerning Adobe products (just not real recent and few & far between) Yes, I am aware of a few minor compatibility issues with Adobe, but it was never a problem with WB 5.0. Besides all the white edges, etc. are throughout, not just in Adobe apps.
Let me provide a little more detail about what I did, just so we're all clear: I was running WB 5.0, which I installed originally via SDC. It was not a trial version. I uninstalled it using "add/remove programs", re-booted, and then checked in "Program Files" to see if there were any remnants of it left (can't remember if there were, but if there were, I deleted them). I then installed WB 5.1 using SDC. I don't know if that will change any of the advic
I know I used SDC to obtain the update and run it. However, I didn't uninstall WB 5.0 using SDC. Do you think that may have made a difference?
Bichur- It may well be that Illustrator CS2 has a problem with WB 5.1, wheras it didn't with WB 5.0. However, I have never had any problems with skins, per-pixel or otherwise, until I upgraded to 5.1. Lantec- some seem worse than others when it comes to the ghosting and white edges, but the missing title bar happens with all skins. Zubaz- Water under the bridge. I was feeling a bit frustrated that day, so I didn't examine the comments to see that one had been posted by Han
Okay, I said I wasn't going to bother anyone about this, but since Bichur was kind enough to ask a question... Anyway, no I don't use WindowsFX. Nothing about my system has changed since I switched from WB 5.0 to 5.1. I'm thinking maybe I just ought to uninstall WB completely and reinstall v. 5.0. It did fine for me. Thanks for the help.
If this is *MY* problem, then why did this only start happening after installing WB 5.1? Just a huge coincidence? WB 5.0 worked just fine, and now I wish I hadn't updated. As for the "rude" comment, I apologize if anyone was offended. I did not see Hankers comment before posting it. I was thinking that no one was commenting after 4 hours, in which case it was pretty pointless! At any rate, I will see what I can do about the problem through other channels. I will bother you no more on this issue.
Well, this is pretty pointless.
Hello? Anyone out there?
er, I meant to say the problem with Illustrator appeared right after I started using WB 5.1!
Ever since I upgraded from WB 5.0 to 5.1 I've been experiencing a host of minor problems. It seems that after I restart my machine, I have unload WB to reapply any skin I'm using (it doesn't matter which skin it is) because some elements are buggy. For instance, the start button is a white square and there are little white ghost lines around open windows. Sometimes I have to reapply the skin several times to get it to render correctly. Another problem deals with Illustrator CS2 (v.
Restarts - Ok, so the Windows Kernel can not load/unload sections at a time. It's monolithic. So is Linux. Mach is a microkernel. Wow, that just means so little. Windows only needs restarting when its kernel crashes. Here's the problem - ignorant users who assume a program locking up makes for a mandatory restart. The pinwheel-of
If it helps, I haven't noticed any problems with WindowBlinds slowing down my system. I was reluctant to use it at first, but I'm very happy I purchased it.
Anyone having trouble clicking on "my account"? It doesn't work for me. I put in an e-mail to Stardock Tech support, so, if previous experience is a guide, it should be about 4-5 days before I hear back. Anyway, none of this is a huge deal...it all started because of one particular skin I wanted to use that wasn't working well.
Here's another weird thing...I tried to log out and start over, to see if that made any difference, but I can't even do that.
I've been having some problems not only with Stardock Central, but also with the WB site. When I click on "my account" nothing happens. It doesn't show up as a link when I mouse-over. Sounds like a job for WB tech support?
Hmmm...I went to Tools/check for application updates, checked the box for the WindowBlinds update and then clicked on the "update now" button...but nothing happened. I've had some trouble with Stardock Central before.
BTW- how do I get an icon to show up with my screen name on these forums?
I have Stardock Central. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
