Personally the whole impulse patching issue is a non point for me because I buy the software and my gaming computer has internet access.. If it didn't have internet access on my gaming computer then I would probably be a little upset and lashing out on the forums. Where else is he supposed to talk about this? If I remember correctly it used to be possible to download the patches directly from the website, if this has changed then Stardock really should mention that an internet connect

It's quite simple really.... Pause the game while your designing ships... Ship designing shouldn't be allowed in multiplayer but in single player mode I don't see what the big deal is... Or just use a function outside of the game like from the main menu
I believe back in Beta 2 or 3 you could turn off pirates by simple clicking a box so I would imagine they could simply be turned off unless something has happened in the game development that prevents this now. Overall though I love this game!
There are differences but one compliant that did come up quite frequently is that all 3 sides generally play the same... There are different tactics for each race but the game does "feel" the same whether your playing TEC or Vasari... It would have been nice to see some major differences between the races but thats the difference between a world altering game like starcraft and a game that rates 8.5 Looking at what stardock has done with the new GalCiv expansion I would expect eventuall
I think this is a pretty cool idea kind of like the epic generator that was supposed to go into galciv2: dark avatar. It shouldn't have an affect on morale or really the gameplay at all since this is an RTS but it would bump the immersion factor for those of us who like to roleplay our games a bit
I really dont see any meaningful connection.. If any game is similar to twars 2002 it's the X series... Twar was all about trading and building powerful corporations... It was a great game just as SINS is a great game but besides the fact their both in space and both games have trade ports they are just to vastly different to compare.
I actually pre-ordered back in early Beta 3.. I downloaded Beta 2 off a torrent site and became really interested.. When Beta 3 was released I was so hooked I had to buy it.. With the exception of finding out theres no campaign I haven't regretted it yet... However Stardock has never been good at making campaign's (Gal Civ's are all to barebones) so it's probably for the best!
Ya I have to say I'm a little surprised at this, I suppose one could say we got access to the Beta in exchange for our $5 I would imagine this is just a little PR mistake that will get cleared up and it is only $5 but it's the principal of the matter...
