GC2 is the AI's ability to take apart your ships in orbit one at a time & I really wish that stardock would change this. If I have five ships in orbit then the AI should have to take on all five at once the same way the player does when attacking an AI owned planet. Good Idea ! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif

This is a "congenial request", not a complaint, simply a Respectful request, as above: just a Site request/suggestion, as it stands it is very hard to navigate the onslaught of posts, and I would imagine very hard for the devs as well to read through all this. Me being a noob as well, all I can suggest is to re-read the manual and re-watch the tutorials and search thru these forums for answers and just hop into the either the campaign or do a medium size game (which may be easier). That's what I'm doing, and I am learning by trial and error. The game directions are a bit vague and dont' give detail or procedures, really. So I requested in ano

A no tech trading option would be nice... I agree, sometimes it happens at a really bad time in the game when I'm trying to fend off the Dread Lords or a race wants to trade with me as it's getting pounded real bad by the Dread Lords, yet they have time to shop and trade with me? ..... then a turn later are wiped out? Last night I had a minor sharing a star system with me; I used this method to get Planetary Invasion from them and used to it buy a transport in the neighboring planet, slipped it right past the huge Terran fleet keeping them from building any new ships and stole the planet. Yes, I felt a little bit guilty about it -- but not that much. That is EXCEL

Formal Declaration of War would be nice. Also, it would be nice if you could threaten people with war in exchange for stuff. Or even, "Surrender, or we'll declare war." Wow there have been a few times in game I WISH I had that option!

#1 same as above #2 same as above #3. Actually if you have the Logistics (space for more ships in a fleet) you can: for example put two Transports in one fleet (for 2000 troops) then click on the planet with that fleet to invade/attack with the 2000 all at once, instead of using just one transport at a time (1000 Troops). #4 same as above #5 same as above #6 not sure myself hope that helps, well at least #3

Choose techs/ships/planets to trade, then have a "negotiate" button with a slider (i.e., do I want cash, influence, or some balance of the 2). You hit it, the system pops back with their offer, which you can either decline or accept. Great Idea ! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab

@ talon012754 I think so, I'm just starting "Mission 4 - Siege" now ..... and have not even been able to trade nor use frieghters up to this point. The Game instructions dont really cover the directions on what it takes to trade even on an instant game via one of the research techs or whatever, let alone what it takes to build a frieghter etc. etc.. maybe GalCiv2 will post a Tech tree chart, like Warhammer40K Dawn of War or Age of Mythology or "fill in the blank" ma

Thanks for the reply everyone, however I wish we had or will get eventually a: Revised Manual: (more in depth, not just features) missing very much detail, it just tells what things are, not how to operate the many different facets of the game. (it's as if they want you to figure out the details on your own by trial and error, which is what I'm doing now) Many companies and publishers release revised digital manuals already, after patches and upgrades to the gam

Tutorials: a more detailed or in game example of in-game mechanics or procedures Manual: missing much detail, it just tells what things are, not how to operate the many screens correctly, ie: this Research Tech will give you this weapon or whatever. Campaign Walkthrough: self explanatory Standard Game Example: Just like in the Journal, but detail on what's being built, used and etc. etc. If I had to pick only one of these I would like to see either a more detailed:

A note: don't think you can skip diplomacy just because you're in the campaign. Admittedly, some games will be more war, war, war rather than jaw, jaw, jaw, but it's always a factor. completed the 2nd mission in the Campaign, thus far it hasn't been an issue yet. However I'm starting the 3rd Campaign Mission tonight, but before I do

@ Corban: Population was fine already had factories and more on the one planet, No Problem @ brigiton: I had plenty of money and factories, research, and farms already built on the original planet. It's the newly aquired planets I got with my colony ships, They would not allow building at all, this is Mission 2 from the Campaign portion of the game not an instant skirmish, Just was curious if anyone else playing the "Campaign" noticed this as well? I have already take
