I recently installed the newest ati drivers... Horrible idea, it screwed up all my mouse pointers, not only in this game but in others as well. Major flicker issues, as well as actually slowing down gameplay unless I ran with hardware cursor. Had to roll back driver, anyone know if this is just some oddball issue with me or if it has hit others?

@Castor76- The whole point of giving people the free expansion is as an apology for the less than perfect game in the beginning. I am pretty sure waiting till the last minute to buy the game so that it has the best fixes in order to get a free expansion completely destroys the point behind them handing it out in the first place...

Hey man, I understand all the bad criticism and talking about how this was rushed and how you should feel ashamed of yourself for how this was released can get you down, but you shouldn't let that get to you. Those of us that have been with you since galciv 1 know that you don't put out crap. Yes, it is true that this release didn't come out perfect, but that is not entirely your fault. Street release being broken, forcing you to release to pre-payers before day 0 patch was

I have created a few custom npc heroes to recruit and made it so they had really good vision. 25, which kinda may be overkill, but hey, I like seeing whats going on around me. Anyway, if I leave these heroes sitting still in a town or just hanging out on a random part of the map the vision goes away after a few turns. One second I can see a good chunk of the map, the next its like my heroes go blind. The fog of war swallows up everything and I have to physically move the unit to get its visio

I was messing around with seeing all the buildings and making uber units so I used the tech cheat to get all the techs quick. The issue comes in with two of the infinite kingdom techs, the only ones left over when all is researched, refined economy and refined diplomacy. Economy is supposed to boost guildar production by 10% and diplomacy diplomatic capital by 10%. After several times researching both of these, nothing happened. I also noticed that where the other infinite techs have th

I do have a question, and I have done a search but couldnt find anything on it, but how do you mod the gravity well of a planet? This has been bugging me for a while, would like to be able to put structures and defenses further out...

I for one am actually glad they got rid of having to use the galaxy manifest, that was pretty annoying. Its nice to be able to just save the file to one folder and have it work again.

I have read through this thread, looked at all the suggestions, and come up with a few of my own. One of the big problems I am seeing people have is how with the new unique techs for each race, It will all basically stop being unique the moment the tech trading gets going, or the invasions begin. And with the AI doing it, If people dont follow suit, they will quickly be at a disadvantage, so even if you choose to role play, the AI wont. One solution I think would w

Wow, just wow. I normally dont post on any forums, cause im too lazy to type, but seeing what DrSpock wrote about Dark Avatar and stardock has forced me to respond. First off, the fact that stardock is able to release two expansion packs in one year does show that they are indeed working very quickly, however this only impresses me, because I have actually played the original Galciv II and its expansion and am aware of the quality of both games. Which by the way, is damned good.
