I have the same issue - and nearly the same video card as you do. Mine is a 1900XT PCI-E (512MB) ... info cards and such don't seem to be any problem. But anytime the AI whispers something, there is a massive decrease in framerate.

I thought this issue had been taken care of way back in a previous patch, but running Entrenchment 1.01 I get huge lag whenever the AI whispers something to me. As long as the text is on-screen, my FPS dives down - then, when the text goes away, everything is back to normal. I couldn't find any other posts mentioning this, but is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Anyone else run into this, or know how to make it better? Basically, while in-game, if I use any combinatinon of alt + (another key) it does what it's supposed to, but I also get the windows "beep" sound ... and I if I hold the two keys down, it starts beeping like crazy (I think it's the "ding.wav"). Thanks for the help Annatar11! Just so everyone knows, I emailed the save and some steps to demonstrate the problem earlier this afternoon and already got a response back saying that they found and fixed the bug for 1.1. :D I've heard that Ironclad/Stardock have good support, but wow! And on a Friday afternoon before a long weekend too.

Dang, that's just my luck ... as soon as someone else tries to reproduce it, everything works fine. :D I do actually have a save made under 1.05 though that demonstrates this. When I go home at lunch I can dig it up and send it ... except I'm totatlly clueless and don't know where to send it to. :SURPRISED: Should I just email it to Ironclad's support email?

I have noticed this same exact problem. There's always one ship (almost always the last one that joined the fleet) that thinks it has to go back to my home planet - I can tell it to move or attack, etc and it will ... but once it's done it starts to head off back home again even though it's supposedly in a fleet. I reproduce this just about every game right at the beginning as TEC - simply build your cap ship, select it and then form a fleet. Then queue up 4 cobalt light frigates. Th
