Don't forget that you can modify their attack times, among other things. Search the "I hate pirates!" threads if you're interested. I don't recall the file and variables off the top of my head.

Sadly, there's no patch for humanity. For years to come there'll be legions of people who'll expect a clone of insert name here and pick the game up without reading anything. The game really is a true rts, yes. It's Gal Civ or MoO with a real time component, not "Homeworld Empires" or some such. I'm honestly not sure where the Homeworld references come from, sure some of the devs may have worked on the game, but this one is only similar to it in that there are space ships and colored n
Could someone explain the upgrades to me? I zoomed in and looked at my bombers (Advent) at the beginning of the game. They did "average of 3 points of damage". Okay. Several upgrades later on the tech tree that said it effected bomber damage the damage is still listed as 3 points average. What is going on?
It probably rounds down rather than up. I've yet to see a single decimal point in the damage listings. Three point seven

(Edit thingy died. The forum likes to lock me out of my old posts now and then for some reason.) Just to add, my last match had me clearing out my opponents with 57 squadrons of drones. Thats 417 bombers, with the modified carrier cap ship squad sizes. And an extra 18 from abilities. Along with the usual combat ships in escort. That made a very, very large dent. An extreme example, maybe. Jumping out before taking losses is exactly what I did. of course, had the enemy

Bombers are most certainly not weak, they just require large numbers. Yes, that sounds like it amounts to the same thing, but consider the mechanics of the buggers for a moment. Five squadrons of bombers can cross the grav well quickly, and really screw up a frigate on a pass. It takes a long time to make a noticeable dent in an attack force. Ten squadrons of bombers can certainly blow up a frigate or two on a pass. This is scary, one frigate every shot, with the carriers safe

I've also been amused by the volcanic planet gig, but it seems that given time the ai will eventually research to colonize the planets. I assume that if it's strapped for cash and resources it will try it's best to keep other priorities going first. This sometimes cripples them.
I never would have bought Sins if games were two hours maximum. How dull.
It makes me smile to see the difference in attention spans in this thread. How dull, indeed.

Or you could zoom out in the same amount of time with less distance to cover by moving the mouse. The chances of new game navigation features being added are very, very, very slim. It ain't an unworkable idea, though. You really ought to consider playing with your mouse wheel sensitivity, or a different mouse.

Whats wrong with getting stomped by the ai? If they're attacking you all together at once, you've obviously pissed them off. Don't do that, or lock teams. A common reason for them to unite in these games is when you start to look too threatening number wise, no matter how aggressive or competent you may be.

At first I found the bombers to be a little underwhelming, so I decided to get a few more carriers together before letting them be. It is a thing of beauty to see four hundred odd bombers open fire on a capital ship at the same time. A large group of carriers may be somewhat vulnerable, but there is something to be said for an attack force that can sweep the grav well clear of all defenses in the time it would take a group of heavy hitters to reach the planet. Consider this, making a proper sandbox that can stand whatever a player feels like throwing at it is a long and involved process. Making a sand castle is another one on top of that. They elected to make a sand box with infinite possibilities rather than an awesome sand castle that you can't do anything cool with. (And knocked ten bucks off the price. Cheers.) Presumably they may get around to making a campaign, but I'm perfectly happy to have the game now rather than in two months from
I like how the elitist fan base of this game can't read and comprehend someone's points without mocking him. 1 Yes - the game is too slow. That does not mean 'make it a fast game.' It means the game is too slow. 2. I have also had a problem with the pirates. They are a major annoyance and contribute to people disconnecting after the half hour mark, which means everyone in the game just wasted half an hour doing nothing but sit and wait for resources.
Moc

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, couldn't you simply download it again on your other pc and email or physically transfer your saved games folder or whatever else you might want?
-snip- I had a few questions about the tactics just mentioned by Blair. What does he mean "I love that I can survive after my fleet has been decimated by raiding trade ships to fund a mercenary pirate army"? How does killing trade ships get you credits? -snip-
When people have bounties on their heads, killing their ships and structures will net you a portion of the credits. Slaughtering traders and refinery ships can be a very useful source of inco

Er, just in case this is your problem: If your colony ship can't colonize something that it should, check it's blue 'antimatter' bar. It may be out of fuel, when that happens it takes a little while before it can get back to digging tunnels.
