Mass Effect, definitely Mass Effect. No other game comes as close to pen and paper gaming as it, although it's still a long ways off. One of the very few games worth a second play-through, just because of all the different possibilities.
Zeta Gundam
I think part of the problem is that the developers want to make the AI play more like a human player, but sometimes that's not necessary. I was one of those who pushed for the "unfair" option for that reason. I think the devs should let the AI use strategies that a human player cannot use. For example, raid/attack from multiple fronts at once. A human player will have serious problems dealing with that. Also, random attacks all over the map keeps players off
renojustin, make sure your video drivers are up to date.
LMFAO...!!! Beware the space ponies!
Currently, turrets are pretty useless player vs. player. I was thinking, instead of increasing their range, it would be better if turrets were allowed to be placed *outside* the gravity well. I'm not sure, but I don't think it would be so unbalancing, nor would it make the game into a turtler's paradise. But at least make turrets semi-useful. Thoughts?
Oops... my bad. Sorry! X-(
Zyrxil, could you add top speed and acceleration to the chart? Thanks!
No way, consoles rulez! They have auto-aim, which is a whole lot better than using a mouse! ;) Heh!
Hooboy... laptop drivers don't get updated quite as often. It's up to the company that made the laptop to update the drivers.
LOL... yeah, that made my day. ;)
What version Nvidia driver are you using? You might want to try 174.74 beta.
IMHO, if the maps were more 3D (i.e. planets not all on the same plane), then ship movement would be more 3D.
CommanderAdama, thanks! I'll take a look.
bailknight, could you release a fixed version of the mod? I've asked a couple of friends to install the mod, and I think the extra instructions will only confuse them. :p
Obvious flame-bait. No one's _that_ stupid.
Hi bailknight... so we should wait for the v1.04 compatible version now? :)
Yes! V1.04 is out!
Be patient I tell myself, be patient. Be patient I tell myself, be patient. Be patient I tell myself... ... .... ;)
IMHO, and it's only my opinion, this is pretty crucial to how and what we play PC-wise in the future. If SD fails and collapses, it may be "the straw that broke the camels back" for the PC games industry. With SD, we players actually have a *say* in things. If we do not support this model and let it die, then there is very little hope that the PC games industry will evolve. Big companies like EA go where the profit is, and shift platforms like changing shirts. Granted, SD wi
OH yes welcome the patch that makes HC rush even better :O
LOL... snarky cynicism duly noted.
Hmmm... Frogboy, I was thinking maybe you guys could try the "once a year" style digital update (i.e. GalCiv II 2009 enhancement pack). Once a game is off of its regular updates and expansion packs, this once a year pack would bring the game up to date to work on newer PCs and OSes, and add a few enhancements and tweaks. Each year, if there is enough interest/pre-orders, it would continue until there is not enough interest in the game. Two advantages of this is, one, i
I've always maintained that the "Care Bears care" is the most dangerous phrase ever uttered. ;)
Ah, so if the title doesn't have "war" in it, the game should be called "Diplomacy"? I think not. Might as well complain about the lack of diplomacy in Dawn of War. Space marines should just cuddle those orks! LOL.
synac has got it right, they're all just Dune II clones. :D It does seem some of the stuff is structured similar to WC3, but WC3 was mostly a rip-off of other games anyway. It's the old "pot calling the kettle black." The important thing is the difference in style of play. Chess and checkers use the same board layout, but man, they ain't the same.
Yeah, it's a "reminds me of these other games" type review. Oh well, not everyone likes it or gets it, which is to be expected.
