Here's my five: 1. Make it easier to upgrade starbases. Systematically building lots of constructors and sending them to all your starbases is tedious to say the least, especially when your going for an influence victory. It'd be better if starbases got upgraded by planets beaming resources to them (like how asteroids beam resources to planets). There'd also be a delay upgrading starbases far away from a planet. This wouldn't make it any cheaper or faster (in game turns) to upgrade

Just player my first few hours, and I'm very impressed. The game looks to be deep, flashy, and way too addictive. I like how all the game's subsystems are rather simple individually, but managing your empire as a whole takes a lot of finesse. Still getting used to the empire tree . . . it should be a few games before I figure out what all those icons are for. I especially like the RPG-lite element of your capital ships and how they gain experience. They're remind me of the heroes of

Hey, an official one of these threads! Awesome! Anyways, my two cents . . . My favorite parts of the game are diplomacy and the UP. I'd like to see these elements beefed up a little. For the UP, it would be great if you could set its agenda and choose what to vote on. Maybe it could be determined randomly based on a race's influence. I'd like alliances to be more meaningful; your s

Here's my own wish list: -The planet type icon should be displayed in the civ manager, so I can easily see which advanced planet techs I need. -The bass for mass driver sound effects really needs to be turned down. I have to quickly kill the volume if I don't want to go deaf during planetary invasions or space battles. -Speaking of sound effects, I'd like to hear a blaster or something whenever an agent is neutralized <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smil

I don't like violence in games when its particularly gratuitous (like God of War or Mortal Kombat) or glorifies real-world violence (like GTA). Not saying its causes people to be psychos, but

Neverwinter Nights 2 requires a tremendous amount of graphics power, though I'm not sure if the return is worth it. I'd wait until later in the month and pick up Supreme Commander. A few days ago I bought a 7900 GS from newegg and its REALLY hard waiting for it to arrive. The faster shipping should help preserve your sanity

For a real example, would you buy the DVD of Andy Warhol's 8-hour movie of the guy sleeping for $39.99? (If it was just that movie, no extras.) Not without the bonus features

At their core, virtually all games are about survival. It could be running from goofy ghosts, jumping over platforms, battling a cliche alien menace, or protecting your galactic empire. The possibility of loss and the high stakes--survival--is what gives us a thrill and makes the game fun. And that helps us connect with the game in a very basic, primal way, and gives us an excursion for our very cozy lives. I don't like violence in games when its particularly gratuitous (like God of

I've played a few games of DA so far and I have to say that it makes GalCivII feel new again. Here's my thoughts on different aspects of the game: The Stardock Logo At Startup: I would just like to say thanks for not giving us a million video clips to skip through with each game start-up. I'm also playing Neverwinter Nights 2, and there are no less than 5 logos that I have to click through to get to the main menu. Asteroid Fields: These are fun. I like how they impact planet

I won't be missing the epic generator . . . but I would like the game to remember the post-game summaries. Maybe have it record your race statistics and galaxy settings. I'd like to be able to compare my recent games to the ones I've done before. (I'm one of those who never uses the metaverse )

I'd like there to be a music change key that would randomly reselect a new track of music. Even with my custom soundtrack, I can get tired of hearing the same piece of music too many times.

I have the game preordered, and I honestly don't mind waiting another few months. For me, I have no shortage of great games to play, with about a half-dozen more being released in the near future. So take your time, and make Dark Avatar that awsome expansion you want it to be. You know, that one with an expanded United Planets I'm very interested in a beta -- that's something I'd like to see before the end of the year. Plus I

I’m a big fan of Stardock’s digital distribution system—-for reasons mentioned above, especially because I can get a hard copy for just a few dollars more. I hope more game companies follow suite . . . it means more creative control for you guys, and better games for us.

What I would like to see is a bit more fleshing out of the UP. A couple ideas (which I'm sure others have brought up) would be (1) announce the subject of the vote in advance, and add items to the diplomacy window such as "Vote yes/no on the upcoming resolution" which could become part of negotiations, and (2) allow for periodic votes for president of the UP, with the
