This will prevent your ram running in double data rate (Slot 1&3 or 2&4) effectivly with will decrease performance. This is not true. I have 4GB of RAM in 32-bit XP on a trio boot (XP-32, Vista-32, Vista-64). It is true that 32-bit OS will only show you between 3 and 3.75GB but the system uses all of it. It does NOT decrease performance. check either Microsoft's own KB, or any tech forum (including the one I run at diy-street.com/forum). You'll see this is folly.

yes please...1.02 was (and still is) the best patch for our little gaming group of about 8 players because we could set resources to High and have 3 resource asteroids at regular planets + colonizeable asteroids and 4 resource asteroids at ice/volcanic. PLEASE give us back the option instead of making it "random".

well I read the changelog and I KNOW it isn't the final changelog, but I'm concerned that I didn't see anything about the ability to have options when it comes to [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/304284"]resources/resource asteroids[/link] I surely hope we are given the ability to set the resource levels like we were in 1.02 and previous...

any chance that you will give us the ability to change resources? IE before in 1.02, you could set the resource asteroid levels at low, med, high (high being 4 asteroids per major planet/colonizable asteroid/ice/volcano planets etc). With 1.03, the resource asteroids were vastly reduced and no options to increase/decrease them. More than a few of us would like this option returned so we can decide per game how many resource asteroids there will be. thanks!
Has there been any news on how to modify the resources on each planet? I've seen people ask in the past but their hasn't been any answers on how to specify what types of resources are on a particular planet.
I think they'll either have to give us back the option in the 1.04 patch (it was in 1.02 of course), or we'll have to use the modding tools instead of Galaxy Forge to do it =/ from a post in my thread asking the same thing, I was told (but not by anyone from

download and install it if you don't like it (my little gaming group didn't...we went back to 1.02 quickly because of the lack of resource asteroids and no option to change it like there was in 1.02), you can simply uninstall the game and re-install with 1.02 patch. Maybe sounds like a hassle, but all 11 of us did it and it took all of about...9 minutes maybe ;) You won't ever be able to decide if it's a good patch or not unless you give it a shot yourself (but I do su

heck, I've got great hearing but I still prefer subtitles being included (I like OPTIONS...lack of options is always bad). I like subtitles for the fact that sometimes I have to play with the sound low (the wife is a school teacher and goes to bed around 9pm on weekdays). Mostly I like subtitles to be able to read the dialog being spoken as sometimes I can't make out what the voice said, sometimes the Blackhawks game is streaming over internet radio or the DirecTV-enabled com

I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to be drunk with Wii power when Mario Kart finally comes out...for the last couple of weeks a lot of my little gaming group has been pissing and moaning about the life lost to this "sins" nonsense...what a horrible game...we've got angry wives and girlfriends and mothers and fathers and bosses hell-bent on destroying our lives by "divorcing us" or "firing us" or "grounding us" yawn you can't win unless you give us something to take awa
I'm with you, A_G - I miss the low/med/high/random resource option. I tended to keep it on high, just to move things along (without actually speeding up the game). It also had me using the black market dynamic more than I normally would.Anyway, I also hope they bring it back in 1.04. Yes, we can jack up the economic income rate, but it still doesn't bring in the same amount of resources. If nothing else, I think planets looked a little cooler with 3-4 asteroids floating around instead

hrmm....no one can give any comments on this? I'm the only one who has a group of players who hate the lack of resource asteroids (or maybe we are just too stupid to know how to get all of the resource asteroids back to 1.02 levels...?)

the two largest complaints I have are: 1. Galaxy Forge isn't 100% compatible anymore (the maps are funky if they work at all in 1.03...update is coming I've no doubt) 2. Resource Asteroids = used to be nice in 1.02, but in 1.03 there is a big shortage of them. Check my post [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/304284"]WWW Link[/link]:

I'm interested to find out when updated Galaxy Forge will be released that works with 1.03 properly (instead of having to change version number etc)

I have a quick question (and after searching for a couple days, I can't seem to find anyone else complaining about the same thing!)... In 1.02 games with high resource setting, Ice/Volcano planets provided 4 crystal/metal asteroids, colonizable asteroids provided 2 crystal + 2 metal, space junks, gas giants, etc provided 2-3 (or even 4!) random resource asteroids, regular colonizable planets provided 3-4 resource asteroids, etc. Now in 1.03, you have the option to set econo

looking good but I still couldn't open the maps in Forge without making them a 0 or using one that I started creating with the in-game map maker. Hopefully they will update Forge quickly for us! Now I just need to figure out how to go back to the old resource model (ice/volcano planets with 4 resource asteroids, most colonizable asteroids with 2+2 etc)
Galaxy Forge doesnt work with the latest update 1.03. Will there be an update to Galaxy Forge as at the moment its worthless when using the latest game edition!!!!!I didn't use Galaxy Forge until tonight after I updated to 1.03, so I can't say for certain, but I changed the "version" listed in the galaxy file from 0 to 1 and everything seems to work fine.
yep, I found a post on here saying to change it from 0 to 1 (all the default/stock maps already are 1, all the ones I

"little" developers are usually the best (look at mod teams) because they aren't constrained by shareholders who demand profits so you MUST release a game THIS QUARTER blah blah. They aren't creatively saddled by some jackass manager who scraps good ideas in favor of rehashing old, used ideas that helped sell previous 9 sequels of an idea nicely. They aren't really looking to make a bazillion dollars off a product like Halo3, Battlefield9 whatever. They DO love money, and mon

Personally, over Hamachi, the game rocks. We've had one drop in about 200 games (ie only one player in 200 games has been dropped). It definitely is a "lowest common denominator" game. 99% of us (a bunch of guys from my tech forum) have 2GB RAM and at least a 2Ghz A64/PentiumD/Core2 and most of those are dual-core cpu owners. When it's just us, the game is flawless (with me or anyone else as a host via NAT router through Hamachi), even a 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 game. The weak link i

Hamachi user here. I'm sure ICO is ok (now), but my forum is a close-knit community and we like private games and Hamachi is a better connection (we are all premium clients) than ICO in my opinion. We always connect via the Hamachi IP address of the host and games work without issue (other than one player who only has 1GB RAM starts to make the rest of us lag in a 4-vs-4 game after about 2 hours but it's ok, still a killer game!)

I'd like to add that if you need a host that isn't filefront/rapidshare etc then I will gladly host this mod and any future updates via www.angrygames.com (100Mbit line, dedicated webserver, etc...I use it to host angrygames.com, diy-street.com, etc and have plenty of bandwidth). I personally hate filefront and rapidshare etc. Since the mod is only 28MB, I'll allow direct linking (so you don't have to open a webpage and see advertising or whatever). PM me or reply here if you
Hahah what? Yeah, they work as well as dual cores, 65nm dual cores. You can overclock a 8400 on air to 4.0ghz without breaking stock voltage. You are essentially getting a E6600 with two extra useless cores if you buy that processor.
uh...no, you aren't. Please don't give advice on something you don't have experience with. And it is never a good idea to start telling anyone to "overclock" anything. You may do it, but it isn't something you need to be spouting to others. <

I'll always support companies who don't treat me like a criminal (Microsoft/2k with this crap "activation" nonsense...wtf??? Starforce copy protection...are you serious? etc etc). More importantly, these guys keep kicking out tremendous games. I have to admit my first Gal Civ was snagged off the internet to see what it was but as soon as the wife got addicted, I knew it was time to pony up the cash, and we've purchased Gal Civ 2, the expansion, and now Sins. thank you search button! I have just about gone mad my first two games trying to capture one of these...especially since in some fields I DID capture one or two but not all of them, and when I finally gained control of the fields with an armada, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how the heck to cap the rest... thanks!
