Is there a single player to this game? in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

Given the story line and backstory to this game it seems really intersting. I initially thought just from the intro there would be a really epic single player campaign or 2. Something like Homeworld perhapes for a storyline to go with the game play. It seems all there is is maps, custom, random, etc. I really thought I would find out who is chasing the remnants of a once mighty empire. How did the splinter race come back so strong, why now.
