Hello, I have seen the various excellent spreadsheets, such as SithLord's most recent one ( https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/379562 ) or the older sticked ones ( https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/302320 ), as well as some full-text documents (like Raging Amish's one https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/319926 ),&n

Is there some list/table/easily viewable chart somewhere that lists all of the ships so that one could compare some simple stats? I am basically interested in - cost - hull / shields - base DPS - supply cost I have seen a lot of detailed spreadsheets, including those stickied on these forums, but that's not quite what I mean. Can anyone help?
OK thanks. I wasn't sure if there was a developer comment somewhere that I had missed. I searched here a bit and haven't seen anything since February 2010, but since I am so new I cannot tell if a developer has commented under a moniker with which I am unfamiliar. It seems odd for me to see a product like this with a relatively new expansion made by such a relatively small company without any recognizable developer interaction -- I would have thought they would somehow profit from dropp
Sorry, I'm still very new here, and I am not clear as to what the state of development is here. IIUC, the last official patch is quite some time ago, and things look they are fairly stable, and if I am not mistaken, the developer is busy elsewhere while the publisher has its hands full with Elemental and other woes. So the main question is: Is there any consensus regarding another patch? Will there be one, and if so, sometime this year? The second main question would be regard
Hey thanks much! One last question: Planet Health vs. Planet Population. Is it the latter I need to reduce to zero so that I can settle a planet? Or do both have to reach zero? Thanks much
Thanks much. Seeing the red for underdevelopment is something I actually saw before, quite helpful. I've stopped building those envoy ships, I just do not know how to use them properly. Does anyone else make them, or is that only for larger games? I suppose they are not meaningful in MP, or is that incorrect?
Wouldn't it be fairly easy to have in Game Setup screen a simple drop-down list: "Pirate Strength": Very Low, Low, Normal (default), High, Very High -- something like that? Would that be terribly hard to do?
Thanks guys. Don't entirely understand diplo yet, but I guess I will at some point. Right now I'll just kind of concentrate on ... killing. I've heard "battle ball" mentioned a couple of times, what iz dat? Hmn, never used qwertasf, didn't know they did anything? Thanks for the tips. So you usually only have 1 or two fleets? I'd kind of like to have 6 or 7 for hit and run, just havent been able to manage the micro so far. I'm a real TBS kind of guy, where I like to have
Thanks so much. Odd that this isn't documented in the wiki or elsewhere. My main problem is that when playing the game, I am under constant attention-drain, because it seems that everything needs my attention at once and I don't have time to look at it all at once. I still haven't seen all aspects of the TEC tech trees (the only race I've played so far, so as to try to at least understand one). I'm not good at RTSs. Usually, during big battles, which I try to manage, I look up at some point a
Hey thanks! Regarding cultural bonuses: I've searched the Wiki (Factions, etc.) and the manual, and I can see that each race gives a bonus for positive culture, but I can't see what it is. I'm guessing it's different for each race. Where can I find out what it is, how much of a bonus it is, and how much culture I need to get what kind of bonus? Thanks tons
cool! Thanks. Camera lock? You mean there is a button that also locks the camera in position? Heh didnt know that either.
Thank you people, priceless. If I kill the carrier or hangar which spawned the strikecraft, will the strikecraft die, or must I eliminate the strikecraft itself?
Sorry, still a total newbie here -- how did you get it that you can see the individual strikecraft even in the distance? I also usually only see a bunch of dots, but even if I were to zoom in real close, I can usually only see *one* strikecraft (moving around real fast), and the others are far away and just iconized. Also, you don't have that little icon of your faction and the color hovering over all your craft, which is usually the only thing I can see on my strikecraft. How did you get tha
Ah, now I see. Thank you. So researching this Broadcast Center tech is then really, really important -- right? Or are there other ways of accruing allegience / fighting enemy culture? I mean, aside from wiping out their homeworld militarily shortly before losing all your planets? Do other AoE effects work like mines -- only damage the enemy (thinking of self-destructing starbases)? Is there a level cap on capital ships? I have never gotten a capital ship above level 6 so
Thanks, that did the trick perfectly. If you don't mind me asking: I noticed that TEC have the Probe tech, just discovered how helpful that is. I also see it has 2/2 slots, or however you call it: once you get probe, you can pay again to get it 2/2, but I cannot see any indication of why I should want to do that -- what does paying more get me? My first game against a "normal" AI ended badly, I had no idea what was going on until too late -- culture attack! I was TEC and he Ad
Thanks very much. Think I'm getting that now. Really like just about everything in this game except the 2gig limit. One tiny thing still confuses me, do you guys have this too? No matter what scheme I pick for me in Options, in-game my fleet, planets, empire tree -- in short, everything mine is always light green. I get the little icon I chose, but no matter what color I opt for (the color of which, oddly enough, I can actually still see up in the game screen indicating my name in, fo
Thank you. I did not realize that required an extra update, I thought that was "built in". I had actually deactivated the mod briefly and my fleet is still green. I started a new game and my fleet is STILL green, even though I switched the template a couple of times. Did I break something? thank you
Thank you. Got it now. I've noticed a couple of anomolies with this thing running. Maybe it's me and I'm just new. The first is, some buttons are black. (Like the button for upgrading starbases. At least for me. I'm playing Trinity, TEC. The button in the top right corner of the action grid is black, but the mouse-over is correct for upgrading.) Second, my player color has switched. In the top, it is still me in blue, but all of my ships are green. I've gone back
Sorry, me again. I'm a computer idiot. I DLed the package, unzipped it, and read the readme. I am confused on *exactly* what to do. I am sure that with a little work, I will find where my appdata is (using Win7, German, so everything is called different I think), but my question is this: There are 3 packages, OS, E, and D. I have Trinity. I am unsure if I need to install all 3, or only D. Would you mind being so kind and helping an idiot out? Thank you.
[quote who="InfiniteVoid" reply="15" id="2752414" 11. Pirate vessels, unless they are on a raid, will stay put at their bases and only move to attack targets that enter the gravity well. Each time a raid is launched, a certain number and mix of pirate ships will appear in the base [/quote] So are you saying that the raiding pirates DO spawn quasi-magically and are not dependent on how the pirate faction's strength is? One last one: Does having more civics /
Hey thanks so much. Still having trouble figuring out the pirates, but I'll get that soon. Do you happen to know if mines damage anyone in the blast radius or only enemies? Thank you.
Thank you. Two last questions (sorry) 10: What if my constructor ships (TEC, the guys who build stuff) get destroyed? The ones that are automatically generated when you colonize? I haven't seen a way to actually build new ones. Probably blind. When the automatically generated trade ships get killed, the ports just make new ones, right? But what about those constructor guys (LEV?)? 11. Pirates. I'm still trying to get the hang of this, but do I have this right: Pirates
Hey thanks so much, that's exceptionally helpful. Thank you. 4. I must have missed that. Not in front of the game now, but will look for it. 8. Trade port snaking makes intuitive sense to me -- but having, say, 3 trade ports at each friendly planet in the snake will give me 3x the money instead of just 1 at every planet?
What excellent, succinct advice. I'm new, not nearly as experienced in RTSs like this as the OP seems to be, and have no overview of what which race can do, so a lot of your late-game advice I was unable to fully understand, but this is all good stuff. I tried to ask some questions here , but I'm afraid I'm not quite up to this level yet. Thanks to both of you.
