Ya there is really no point in the game where you should have that much resources unless your just mopping up.. and/or your fleet is just that much powerful then everyone else that you don't lose ships. I never went above 10k of anything untill the game was more or less beat... even if it is expensive, use the black market to buy what you need. also if you are making that many resources then your right ... you need a bigger fleet... sounds like your playing on easy because lagging that far behin

In my opinion if you want a 4X game that seems RTS then play Victoria or HOI. If you want a RTS that seems like 4X play this .... Anyone comparing the depth of SoaSE to 4X is insane. you only have about 15 ships per race... there is nothing hard about that and nothing 4X about it. The only 4X things are the planets you take over... but they can just as easily be a "base" as in any other RTS. The game looks and feels and most importantly plays like a RTS. Sure its not as dumbed down as most RTS's
