Don't be so quick to judge. There are still people out there who live in places where broadband isn't available, yes even in the US. One of my good friends is in that boat. He's been trying for years but he simply can't get the access. Anyway, I'm thinking multiplayer would be okay. We played with a guy last night whose ping was over 600 at all times, and damn near 2000 at some points. We (a local friend of mine on the west coast US, also on broadband) made it through an entire gam

Happened to me again just now, but this time it was the same as the first time: weird artifacting, then random repeated blackouts that didn't stop until I alt+tabbed out and back in again, but the game didn't crash.

I posted in another thread on this topic, but yes, this seems to have worked for me. I'm on XP/SP2 with a 7800GT, and while I wasn't getting a BSOD, I was getting the driver errors and the crashes. Turning off bloom seems to have prevented the problem from recurring, though I still get the "screen blips" that happen right before it used to crash. These are very infrequent, thankfully, and aren't really even very distracting. Now if I could only figure out the minidump crash I got las
