Phase Gate: I no longer research that tech, because its the most anoying thing out there, atleast the TEC version doesnt waste pop cap with random ships. Research: using current system, if i queue up enough items i get the "not everything listed, cause you cant scroll mouseover" issue. Which is really anoying, when i sometimes need to change the order of things. Ya, i figured that, unfortunatly ive been busy and such, hence why im posting so late in beta. You could just research the TL 15 incursion/insurgency miltary tech and laugh away. The AI gets slaughtered by them, havent heard anything about it in MP games thou. IMO it seems way to OP against the AI right now. ive seen an AI with 1/2 the map die soon after me researching that tech.

Ya know... if you went to that much trouble to get a custom case/system like that. Why not mod a keyboard? Get a wireless keyboard with the manufacturer/keys that you like and take it out of the keyboard case, and design your own.

They look great, its alot better then seeing 3 different coloured stars. As to the scale of stars, dont they depict the largeness of the star's gravity well by having ships slowed down alot when in their gravity well? just because the circles look the same doesnt mean they are the same, after all i dont think id want a giant circle 2-3 X the current gravity well. It would make things look to weird...

One thing ive noticed is they go after any border world that has the least defenses, ive actually taken to keeping a world with less turrets then any other world and putting a rotating capital ships there. Enough turrets to kill them quickly, but not enough to have them go elsewhere. By border worlds, i mean of your territory, not yours+allies. Also, ive noticed, and i belive its been stated elsewhere that pirates ignore everything that is no their way to their target planet/area. They

I think hes just pointing out that the ingame system rejects the alternate characters when being entered there, but accepts them if its beign copy/pasted. It could be considered an exploit/glitch, even then worst that could happen is someone could try and copy a well-known player's name via that method to fool noobs or something.

Ok, i have to ask this... does the anti-matter regen artifact actually work? im serious, i havent seen any increase in a capital ships regen pre/post discovering that artifact on a world. Also, ive had 2 of the same artifacts appear in the same game, and they dont stack. At the very least if i get 2 artifacts i want stacking, even if its say 50% of the power of 2nd version. Either that or a 100% guarantee of only 1 of a artifact/game.

Pretty sure that wasnt the case, if i remember correctly i did the full tier one of those 2 techs, then queued up the teir 2 of them. Either way, shouldnt it have finished the tech then gone to the other, since it had already started it? I have the save game of when it happened, once i noticed it i screened/saved it. Its late so if need be ill upload/post the savegame of it, or ill just pause the game and clear up the que enough to see where items really are in the que.

From what i could tell in the couple 3 star systems i tried in beta 2, only one capital and the jumps were like normal, jump from your capital>star>2nd star>new world. Also, i ran into camera issues with 2-3 star systems, if the distance between the systems was to great the camera would stop moving, other then rotating and id have to "jump" everywhere to see anything in that system. Ok, first time i found this bug and first time ive read/heard anything about it. I Acutually have a savegame where there are TWO items showing as being researched, The items were queued up in a really long list(modified the close encounters game to start me off with 75k$ and 15k of each resource) i went through and queued up everything that i could with 2 of each station. In this game when i went to check the status of the techs(since the list was to long for me to see what was being researched

I dont think limiting the fleet to that size would be a good thing, unless you meant "fleet in gravity well of area X" limit, even then it could get anoying. However i do agree something needs to be done to protect against the steamrolling, but decreasing the caps on Cap ships or other ships isnt the way to go. Maybe make frigates alot cheaper, compared to the other ships. The Cost:power ratio for frigates Vs a capital ship is very unbalanced IMO, a single capital ship if used properly can easil

Heres an important question, is it just me or do homeworlds have no chance of getting anything at the start of a game? Having an artifact might be wrong, but a bonus atleast might make sense. Having a homeworld with none of the bonuses seems wrong, it would also spice up the start of the game a bit. Since atm it is to slow and boring, not to mention lacking real variety.

The reason its a bad idea, is all you'd need todo is get to the enemy's homeworld glass it, ignoring other objects in the system, and pow that player is gone. Even if the enemy has jump inhibtors prventing a fast jump, just have a ton of seige frigates and focus fire on any phase inhibtors then jump to next area. In the end, that loss method is just to cheesey for the game IMO. Only way it could be ok is if its an option like the flagship kill option.

Akkans suck in combat when alone, and fresh from the shipyards. Get a few levels on them, max out their range/tohit ability and they help alot. Not to mention their ion bolt makes the enemy Caps alot weaker, combine with a couple Kols and you can slaughter the enemy. As to Sovas, they are the only Cap i avoid, they are only good if you have several of them in a single group. Their main power(fighters/bombers) can be elminated with a good combination of Kol/flack frigates.

Only suggestion i can make ATM is maybe have a "Ancient ruins" on a planet that has an actual artifact(not bonuses) that way all players know that world has something to fight over. Would make things a little more interesting, especially in MP.

True, but later on when you can afford to push your tech up, its really anoying when you have a long list of tech to be researched and only one going at a time. Longest list ive had is about 7 techs waiting, i was focused to much on combat, didnt notice my supplies were so high... What might be ok is maybe increasing the time it takes to research all items by 10-33%, in exchange to be able to research one in each area at a time? As far as i can tell, the only changes is a decreased cost for exploring, and new artifacts/bonus effects. It still takes 2 "upgrades" to fully explore a planet, and theres no researching of artifacts.
