I'm pretty sure Master of Orion's trademark belongs to ATARI INTERACTIVE, INC at the moment. Registrant (1997): Microprose Software; LAST LISTED OWNER: ATARI INTERACTIVE, INC. Concerning Master of Magic it's... strange... The record shows (APPLICANT) Nival Network Limited Russian Federation. Note that it doesn't show "Last Listed Owner" but "Applicant". But, frankly I don't know what that means.
I mean, if you have the The One Game already, why are you looking for one that is shinier? Why aren't you playing The One Game instead?
The same reason why we like to play new Fallouts, Elder Scrolls, Diablos, Company of Heroes, Mass Effects, X-COMs, Sins, etc? Why don't you go play Diablo 1 instead of playing the new Diablo3? By that line of thought you could have said 15 years ago "Hey, go play MoO! Why do

@DarkGaldred Are you excited about the new X-COM being made by Firaxis for example? If so why aren't you as excited with a MoO sequel/re-make possibility? If not I can understand better your point.

First of all thanks to the OP for creating this thread. I also grew up with Master of Orion. Can't really tell if I prefer the original one or the second installment, certainly not the third. If you look at Brad's Stardock Customer Report 2011 I think you have part of the answer of why he's afraid to buy MoO from Atari and make a sequel, or a re-imagined version (it didn't need to be MoO4, could be Master of Orion Universe or another name). I'm not sure about the full 3D aspect (is it really that important to you? Isn't 2.5D sufficient?), but your answer may be not in the past but in the near future. You have the following titles to look for in the coming months, that somewhat match your requirements: Legends of Pegasus (4X, strategic TBS, tactical RTS, screenies look great) ETA:May, 29 2012 StarDrive (4X, RTS, alpha looks very promising with some absolutely gorgeous graphics) ETA: Q2 2012</

I didn't play Elemental. One of the reasons being, the very bad reviews. And I even posted about it in my blog (twice), because it was Stardock's, fantasy and turn-based strategy. As I never played it I'll give you my feedback on other things you did GREAT (I'm sure you know, but it's always good to receive extra praise I think). I'll also give

I was aware of so many good reviews, 8.9@IGN, 9.0@Gamespot but somehow I found resistence to the game because I like more TBS 4x games than RTS. To my complete surprise (well only partial due to so many good reviews and the fact I love homeworld games) I really enjoy this game, and I'm currently playing it. And by the way, Entrenchment and Diplomacy are great expansions. I'm not biased by anybody, I really was surprised to discover such an amazing game. I criticise Gamespot's review t

I wrote my review of Sins of a Solar Empire (the complete package. Trinity): http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2010/02/sins-of-a-solar-empire-trinity-review/ Being a traditional 4x TBS fan at first I was skeptical about Sins, now I'm conviced that it is an excelent game. Enjoy! Adam Solo
