My only request is that all of the spells have numbers. None of this fuzzy, "Increases attack strength", numbers. "Increases attack strength by 27.2% at level 1." etc. Oooh, that second sentence made me creepily happy. Good luck pepes! -Tim
Palantar
Agreed - I just want to add my voice to this bug. Not sure when they stop spawning, but it does always seem to be a little after level 8 and probably connected a particular conversion skill. Total gamebreaker.
I'm gonna third this, also with nvidia. I knew something was wrong when I was lagging 1v1 vs a computer. I don't get the 3fps, but I do get occasional slowdowns that seem a lot like net lag. Here's my system info: NVIDIA System Information report created on: 01/31/2009 10:22:36 System name: PALANTAR-RAID1 [Display] Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GH
Personally, I believe that leavers should be flagged/tracked and people who routinely leave should be automatically paired against each other in automatic matches and put in different tournaments than the non-leavers. This way the leavers, frustrating and game-ruining as they are, can at least still play the game they bought with their hard-earned money without ruining it for the non-leavers. For custom-hosted games, a leave percentage would be really helpful too. Just stick
In a 2v2 game with relatively high pings (everyone was slightly over 200) about 15 minutes in, we all started getting the message that the host was desyncing. It would then pop up every 5 seconds or so for the entire rest of the game. Here's an error log: C:\work\forge\beta\code\src\libs\gpggal\DeviceD3D9.cpp(950) n/a Program : C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe Cmd line arguments : Callstack:
Ah, good to know Frogboy - I personally haven't managed to connect yet, but this gives me hope to keep trying :)
Just finished my first beta 2 game, mostly succesfull - woot. After the game though, I did get the following crash at the menu screen: C:\work\forge\beta\code\src\libs\gpggal\DeviceD3D9.cpp(950) n/a Program : C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe Cmd line arguments : Callstack: unavailable. Last 100 lines of log... A full record of the log is stored in the Demigodlog.txt fi
Well, GPG is Seattle based so I'm guessing another 3+ hours, sorry Klaleara! :)
Woot - very thankful for the update :)
Interestingly, if you watch the game hosting screen carefully you'll see that about 10% of the time, a port number will appear. The rest of the time, it says something about hosting on port 0. No idea what this means :D
Personally, I've found him to be only 50% pudge. The other 50% is naix. :D (specifically old Naix before he got remade this last time)
For me, 90+% of multiplayer games are unplayable and given that only 2 or 3 games are usually going on at any given time, that translates it a lot of waiting and not much playing. :( I have played against the bots with every character now and I have a few things I could post, but my impression is that this build is just super buggy and everyone knows it, so I'm pretty much just stuck waiting for the next patch...
This would be a total value-add to the game. And with the mute feature (particularly individual-player muting) it does nothing but add to the game. I know that this game isn't Dota, but developer objections aside, it is very close to it. As such, it needs to take the good things that DOTA does and do them the way you could if you owned the platform. Dynamic power-matching the teams is one good example of GPG having the right idea. VOIP I believe s a similar issue
I'm wondering what this means for those of us with a QOS engine on our Router - how do we set it up to give Demigod games lag-free priority? Destination ports? Any suggestions welcome, thanks!
I really love the no DRM part of it. It is in fact the reason I bought it because now I don't have to go around looking for the lost disks, ruining my CD Rom reader by keeping a stuipd disk in there that IS NEVER USED. It is even the reason that I felt very benevolent and forgiving towards the game for the bugs that I kept running into (that turned out to be my drivers <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a
