I think the problem is that the penalties for rejecting/not completing missions is huge. Frankly I'd like to see the AI beholden to the same wacky missions system, since it seems like it's all too easy for them to ally up and gang up again. The negative penalty for military action needs to be dropped as is completely silly. If the default stance in this game is war, it's WAY too easy to wind up in situations where everyone hates you; IE raiding your planets while you're out trying to

Ugh, okay. My favorite mode is Pantheon/Skirmish. Custom games, as custom games are won't to do, are far too subject to their hosts proclivities. Team stacking, etc. I prefer to play vanilla games according to default settings with randomized teammates. Maybe I will check back next month.

Hello, I purchased demigod when it first came out, and then returned it after the sheer inability to play the game. I was wondering if the connectivity issues have been resolved yet. Can I open a game and join a skirmish/pantheon game and expect to play with human players within 30 seconds, or does it still take like 5-10 minutes to get anywhere? I have always considered repurchasing the game if it was ever fixed.

Custom games and skirmish aren't working..at all. I know you guys are on some kind of weekend hiatus, but uh..dead MP for a weekend is pretty much going to be the death knell for this game.

I reccomend this. Sure, there are noobs, but honestly, you can play single player if Hard is a challenge for you.. PLus is it me or does the AI get smarter as the difficulty ramps? Maybe we could get a nightmare AI, but without all the ridiculou bonuses it gets.

Yeah..I was going WTF....The title says Erebus and everyone is talking about TB.. Quite frankly I don't know how to stop a Mist/Bite Erebus without using Sedna. Or double teaming, obviously.

Honestly I don't see where the problem is here. I usually play a different god every game, and I find assassins/generals to be more or less well balanced. The trick with assassins is to use their high burst damage early and often, and to get one or two AOE spells to take care of minions. For instance, with TB, I usually start out with Fireball/Deep freeze, but as the game progresses I use Frost/Fire Nova to take care of minions in one hit. Regulus has his mines/fury, and UCB has Ooze/

I think that's the point really, you shouldn't just be wading through minions. Every assassin has mass abilities to clear out minions ASAP, Angelic Fury, PostMortem/Oose, Fire Nova. You actually have to behave...like an assassin. Hit and run, attack with your armies, strike from unexpected directions. General vs Assassin 1v1 shouldn't be a solved equation, one or the other should have an advantage based on a build. A regulus tuned for sniping is going to be less effective against an E

Yes..I too find this a terrible idea. A General who's away from the front isn't getting any, EXP, so that's it's own penalty. Quite frankly, I've never seen this problem. All the assassins have warp/stun/snipe to disable your ability to run away. Are you sure you just didn't face terrible players? Honestly a simple enough solution, if any is required, is to just lower the movement speed of minions. That would lessen the impact of someone just sitting back and sending them in.<

Culture should have an effect on diplomacy. A BIG effect. It should be as big as ships in terms of the game. Think about it: Planets should have multiple sets of alliegiances. If a player has allegiance>than owning player on another planet, he should be able 'force' consessions and gain bonuses based on a number of factors, such as number of planets, total amount of galaxy controlled, etc. From time to time, the player could make demands like, "Give X crystal/

This is bollocks. To all you people thinking "Gee, free country, internet companies should be able to do whatever they want" Have you ever considered that the internet is a vital service for many people? Why do you think politicians make such a big deal about kids getting computers in schools? The internet delivers a fundamental good to the people, and that's information. Sure, we could live without it, I mean, just 20 years ago we weren't badly off. But look at water?

Well, this is a more drastic solution than just fine tuning some statistics; How about giving flak a similar ability to the Vasari hanger's "Freeze" Ability? Instead of freezing ships in a local radius, they would slow down SC maybe by 25% or half. They way you could at least have a 'fighter screen' ahead of your forces. The issues here are: It may be calculation intensive It's tough to balance the exact ratios of radius and speed Do more f

Something I would love is some basic enemy statistics? Perhaps we could have a chart detailing the tax/income levels of enemy planets so we could tell what is worth attacking. Update it only when you have sight of the planet. I think captains/commanders/something to lend a sense of story to the game would be welcome as well. Of course, I would love to see Ground Battles Ground based defenses Somehow making siege frigates useful

Matched Resource for resource, flaks will do the job. If he has like 20 Carriers, then yeah, you're looking approx 40 Flaks to do it. Think about it, Two Squadrons/Flak vs Advent is 3*20=60/2=30, so get 40 to be on the safe side.

No, that idea doesn't work well at all, mostly because it would require way too much annoying micro/clicking from the player. Let's face it- the fundamental POINT of Sins of A Solar Empire is large scale battles with a reduction in micromanagement. That's why we have fleets, auto placement, and auto-ability use. Everyone's screaming about mines because they run fundamentally counter to the entire Sin's philosphy, in that you shouldn't pay heavily in blood for not micromanaging. In thi

Perhaps dealing with mines doesn't have to be a balance issue, but rather an AI issue? Perhaps if ships defaulted to 'mine clearing' as a default activity, that is that flees with scouts actively paired up to detect and destroy mines, rather than making the user do it manually, that would alleviate the mine issue greatly. Moving ships prioritize nearby mines, to 'clear the way' while ships with range to fire at enemy combatants without running into mines would do so. I posit an algori

It's a BETA. The whole point of it is balance discussion. Don't be such a tool. Regardless, yes I think that the star base should have weapons that cover the entire gravity well. If players want to 'Run the Blockade", they can, they'll just do it under fire. Like you, know, blockade runners...

75k..in Eastern MA? Where exactly are you living, some kind of rich people paradise..area? 75k is actually quite a good wage for a starting out person, most people get by with 40-50k in NYC. Not everyone can get a programmer's wage, and they live in apartments and such like every other normal person. 1600-1500 is pretty much what you pay for a nice apartment somewhere in Brooklyn or Queens. Of course, you don't have to pay for a car, I guess that factors in a bit. I mean, if you wa
