as far as I can tell there has never been even one succesful test of any psionic power under controlled conditions using the scientific method. so the answer is none that has been proven to a sastisfactory standerd.

well the most likely scenario for next contact is with cybernetically enhanced humans via direct nervous system interlink. once humans can interface though machines on any level the very nature of human inteligence will change. The ability to actually experience the sensations of being in another state of being either through artificial enviornment or being privy to someone elses sensory input will change the nature of human conciousness forever.
The problem with genetic tampering is we dont know what effect it will have on natural mutation. There is a whole host of possible unintended consequences when introducing new strains of plants into an ecosystem. To honestly think that scientists are able to forsee every possibly variable in something so complex is just pure folly.
I just reloaded alpha centauri and played a game man that was fun. I cant wait to play a large map on hard.
prices have only increased about 150% in the last 4 years. so if the inflation of gas continues at this rate you are looking at about 14 years for this to happen. Even assuming the price were to actually continue to climb at this unnatural rate (which it wont) in 14 years every car on the road will get at least double the current gas milage if not more. In any case the price of oil is being manipulated by futures traders the actual price per gallon of fuel oil is really around 70 doll
As a tabletop strategy game designer (Board, card and hybrid) Ive always found it best to work with at least a couple other people once you have a good grasp of how you think the game should play. Its very important to not get too attached to any specific ideas because once you get a working model of the game to test you will find that some things you thought would be great may not really fit right. Having others help you in the early design process will definately give you a better ch
The united states is still at this time #1 econmically, agriculturaly and militarily in the world. United states based corporations hold more capitol then nearly every other nation combined. There is enough grain and rice stored in reserve in the usa to feed the entire planet for over 5 years. Not to mention the unused millions of acres of virgin topsoil farmland that the govenment still pays farmers not to farm. The military has been touched on a few times but simp
as to the point of conflict ever stopping no i dont belive that but it will always be done on or around planets i dont expect space warfare like in sins to ever be a reality
Space is really really big enormas really isnt a big enough word to describe the size of our galaxy. so while in theory you are correct that there are finite resources available it will take a very very long time to get to that point. Now if einstein is correct then it is very unlikely we will ever populate another star system short of building a generation ship.
if we ever have the ability to effectively colonize planets not in our solar system we probably wont have wars. Wars are caused by pressure for resources if every group has thier own planets it kind of negates the need to fight over stuff.
um nothing will happen oil will still be a valuble commodity long after we stop powering cars with it. jet fuel plastic machine oil most ships all of the above require oil so unless someone comes up with working fusion power anytime soon none of that is going to change.
Well without the military you would be most likely speaking german japanese or russian and probably not having this nice theoretical conversation on the internet right now
Always is a very long time. Given the track record of history I think its safe to say that at some point the sovriegn entity that the united states is now will no longer be the top dog. The likeliest scenario for this change will not be china or india comming to dominance but change in the sovriegnty of the country itself most likely in the form of a north american union with canada and mexico. once that happens then the usa will no longer be the country it once was. Mexico is already
actually once you hit the 20 mark with transports youll destroy an equal cost kodiak fleet unless your opponant has flak. it takes 20 vasari bomber wings 1 pass to kill a kodiak. However it only takes about 10 flaks to counter any amount of bombers.
russia was and to some extent still is a totalitarian oligarchy. There is absolutely no chance of the few people who control the economic resources in russia ever being out of control there.
Sorry but i have to point out that communism is not a form of government at all its a socio-economic system. Democracy is a form of government (although the USA is a republic). Almost all countries that are labled as communist or socialist as there form of governance are actually totalitarian or totalitarian oligarchies. i hope this clears things up.
Best pc strategy game of all time hands down. You can build psionic paratroopers. you can terraform terrain to change the weather patterns turning your opponants farmland into desert. So many ways to play it really deserves a sequel more than any other game.
for vasari its called the subverter.
I play vassari a lot here are a few things: 1:phase gates take tactical slots so the only thing you lose at planets is defensive structures. 2:since you are building civilian labs you can upgrade your economy(although this is not really necesary since you are going to get ships for free) 3:in a serious 1v1 game you will never get ra up against a skilled opponant. They will be pressuring you long before you even get a phase gate up. On a small map if you are able to r
yes pillagers stop bombing once everything is scuttled. Ive done this many times its actually not to bad as vasari since they have a tech early on that increases value for scuttled buildings.
Yeah Im gonna have to give Go the ultimate strategy game award as well.
As to why the devs havent changed it yet thier could be any number of reasons including: Not wanting to piss off a lot of thier player base. Still debating a way to fix it that still leaves it powerful but not overly so. They are still datamining to get a good sense of how or if it is too powerful. All that said I am a vasari player and I have to say it is quite a bit op. There is no way I could mass a fleet of 60 enforcers and 40 transports by the 1 hou
you can use three refineries in one gravity well and they work for all adjacent gravity wells as well. anything beyond 3 is a waste.
yep on the face of it it seems vasari got nerfed really hard. being a vasari econ player my primary strat on any med or bigger map was to rush for early refinery and dominate the black market. Now vassari is forced to go trade ports as early as possible to have any hope to compete due to the double nerf of resource cost and sale price. please reexamine the market dynamics ic.
I too play vasari and while ra is like this I wont use it its too easy. I think the solution is to limit the ships ra generates to those a player can already buildand to tone down either the amount or frequency of the reinforcements just a little. The real problem I see with Ra right now is the excessive generation of heavy cruisers and transports. the last game I used it in at the 1 hour 20 minute mark I had over 60 heavy cruisers and 40 transports. Last night just playing a pure e
