So, this looks awesome. Once the balance issues are done and everything is finished, this will be amazing. Even in the unfinished state its awesome to see. Hehe, I also like sisqo's new feminine voice. : )

K, nevermind its working now. I had the folder ina folder problem.
Its not working for me. I extracted it into ther mod folder, went into mods and checked the soa2, the screen changed color abit, but then nothing. I can't select the new factions. and don't get the nifty intro Stress mentioned. : ( Still working at it to see what might be the problem. Any suggestions? I'm on version 1.05
Those pics look amazing. I've put the game down for now. Its hard for my laptop to run, and the lack of singleplayer campaign has made it slightly less engrossing. But still waiting eagerly for this mod. kudos for the hard work and great designs.
ND, Other races don't build enemy ships but they do occasionally take technologies form captured ships and implement them into their own designs. However with the Scimitar, just because it was lead by Remans doesn't mean it isn't a Romulan ship. It would have been built with imperial resources, at an imperial shipyard. The schematics would be carefully hidden within imperial databases. So its not really the same as Ferengi building a Sovereign. Its within an empire, so continue
Actually, the term capital ship generally denotes a certain power level, primarily that of enough to lead a fleet. Crew compliment isn't as important as the idea that a commanding officer, such as an admiral, can be relatively safe on the ship knowing it is a dangerous enough and sturdy enough to hold up in battle. Also, Ferengi did indeed give the Enterprise a bit of trouble from time to time. their ships were not as powerful as a rule, but often had extra bits not allowed in norma
My geek sense is tingling quite happily. What a fascinating topic! Kudos to anyone able to contribute meaningfully. Which includes the midget comment.
One thing that bothers me a bit about how this sounds is that cap ships in Sins are very rare, while in Star Trek most fleets have large numbers of capital ships. I would suggest one flag ship for each empire, like the Sovereign class for the Federation that may only have one model in service at a time. Or simply requires a much larger amount of resources or research to unlock. Federation: Sovereign. Romulan: Scimitar. Klingons: Imperial Negh'Vhar Breen: Err
Patches have a history of correcting major flaws. One of my other favorite old games, Age of Wonders II, had no random map for skirmishes. Added in the patch. I consider that a pretty major change. Without a good story to back it up, the game gets old. I've played it through 4 times now and its already just a repeat. There is nothing really getting us into the game. Just move ship, research, point and click. I like the random events idea. That would be good. Or maybe something
I actually won't be buying any more stardock games that are half made. If i want a multiplayer game I'll get into WoW or something. I'll wait for the expansion and then consider getting them. While its true its a rts on a larger scale, Civilization doesn't set up this complex storysetting then blow it off as a way of getting money on the expansion. I was annoyed at Masters of Orion as well for this, and decided I wouldn't buy any more releases of it. For Sins, I'd buy the expansio
Funny, I think wasting time on multiplayer upgrades is unimportant. I don't play multiplayer. I don't see why others have to complain that a fundamental aspect of rts gaming is a 'waste of time' just because its not their preference. I'm actually pretty sour on Stardock for this. The games neat, but after a few skirmishes it'll go on the shelf. I may or may nor buy the expansion since when it comes out, I'll have nothing to get me back to this game. I do love the way St
Like, perhaps, a single player campaign? The balances and updates are awesome, but the game isn't complete until a campaign is issued. I really hope one is in the works.
