Whenever I start any game with this mod enabled, I get the game over screen, every race is dead (including mine) and I can see the whole galaxy. If I start a non-modded game, it plays fine. (I have no other mods loaded to see if they have this problem.) Any thoughts on how I might be able to trouble-shoot this?

I just replaced the annoying music file with my own. My biggest trouble was trying to figure out how I could create ogg files. I found a program here: http://www.audio-converter.com/ which worked well and give 10 free converts to ogg. Thanks again!
Thanks, Annatar11 - you are correct! Which you happen to know off-hand how I can change the intro music that my mod uses?
I'd like capital ships to come into play later in the game when empires can afford them. I did not see an entry in the gameplay file, although I could very well have missed that. Thanks in advance for the assist!
Choose Options --> Key Bindings, and all will be revealed.
Have you tried slowing down the game speed and using PAUSE? Giving yourself time to observe, plan, think and react helps a lot. I use PAUSE so much I mapped it to all of my keys. Ok, slight exaggeration...)
Happens to other races as well. I killed off a TEC carrier today and watched his fighters die off. Your cap ship doesn't get experience for the die-off, however.
Will you play me in MP?
Thanks, Kitkun, for the quick and helpful reply. When using Forge to open the file, I get a 'Galaxy forge has a problem and needs to close' message. Is that due to the version imcompatibility you mentioned? Scratch that...I was able to use Wordpad to open the file. Cool!
I know I'm in the minority here, but I would like to slow down research and construction even more than the slowest settings allowed in-game. (Think 'Marathon' on Civ IV) Is that something I can mod myself?
In Death Ground is actually the first of three novels. Quite a campaign it is.
A book you might enjoy that has the same kind of combat is In Death Ground by David Weber/Steve White.
